Donald "Don" Masato Ito

August 16, 1937 - July 5, 2026

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Don Ito on Sunday July 5th, 2026 at the Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital in his 89th year. Don was the beloved father of Kim Ito and Chad Ito. Cherished companion to Holly DeBoer. Loving brother to Kate Nagata (the late Harry), the late Rick Ito (the late Mae), Phillip Ito (Sandy) and William Ito (Patty).
Don will be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews and extended family.
His athleticism will be forever celebrated as an inductee in the Cobourg Sports Hall of fame, and he had a great love for fast cars, fast horses and big machines.
He was a loving father, fondly remembered by all for his kindness and generosity. His close friends and family are what mattered to him most in his later days.
In keeping with Don’s wishes, cremation has taken place and interment will take place at Cobourg Union Cemetery at a later date. If desired, memorial donations to ALS Canada or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

Don and his siblings were raised in Baltimore, as was our family. We all attended a one room school. Growing crops every summer was a family tradition and they all participated. All Don's accomplishments he earned in daring fetes were well deserved and he had many boxes of trophies to prove it. His beautiful sister Kate was my Best friend. I am doing well Kate as I am in good health - at age 91. I send hugs to your whole family. God Love.
