Anne Grant

November 15, 1930 - June 28, 2026

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Anne R. Grant, who went to be with the Lord on June 28, 2026, in Port Hope, Ontario. She passed away peacefully in her sleep.

Anne was born on November 15, 1930, in Saskatoon to John and Frances Rependa. She was predeceased by her husband, H. J. Alan Grant; her sisters and brother, Marie Smart (Gordon), John M. Rependa (Dorothy) and Alice Still (Gordon) and Ruth (in infancy).

Anne is lovingly remembered by her son, Danny Grant (Janeen); her granddaughters, Harley Anne Grant and Virginia McGowan (Lachlan); and her nieces and nephew: Nancy Dungan (Jeff), Patricia Walker (Ron), Debra Hutchinson, Mark Rependa (Joanne), Donna Kaukinen (Kelvin), Marilyn Baetz (Andrew), Barbara Battensby (Darrell). She is also fondly remembered by several great-nieces and great-nephews. In the last decade of her life, her faithful caregiver and companion, Ruth Lucki, provided her with comfort, care, and companionship.

Anne grew up on a farm near Strongfield, Saskatchewan, and graduated from the Saskatoon City Hospital School of Nursing. She had a distinguished career, holding the honorary rank of Captain with the Canadian Armed Forces at the end of the Second World War. She later worked in Ottawa, where she became a head nurse at Riverside Hospital. Upon Alan’s retirement, they moved to Cobourg, Ontario, where Anne continued her nursing work with VON as she gradually transitioned into retirement. Anne loved to travel with Alan, with Anna Maria Island in Florida becoming their favorite destination. She was also an avid golfer and captured many Ladies’ Club Championships during her years, all while maintaining her dedication to her nursing profession.
