Brad Richard Sloggett

May 8, 1952 - June 8, 2026

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brad Sloggett on June 8, 2026, in Cobourg, Ontario, at the age of 74.

Born in Toronto, Ontario, on May 8, 1952, Brad lived a life defined by dedication, friendship, perseverance, and an unwavering love for his family.

Brad was a devoted husband to Mary Lou Sloggett and a proud father to his two sons, Ryan Sloggett (Colleen McDonald) and Andrew Sloggett (Bethany Sloggett). He leaves behind six grandchildren Maddison, Greyson, Avery, Jordan, Colton, and Austen.

Brad dedicated 26 years of service to the Toronto Police Service, building a career founded on integrity, commitment, and strong relationships. Among those relationships was his enduring friendship and partnership with Rod Rosborough, a bond that remained meaningful throughout his life.

Those who knew Brad will remember him as someone who always finished what he started. He was a strong communicator, a loyal friend, and someone people naturally gravitated toward. Brad never missed an opportunity to enjoy time with family and friends, whether gathered around a campfire, spending time at the lake, casting a fishing line, or sharing one of the many conversations that seemed to make everyone feel welcome and heard.

Brad's strength, sense of humour, wisdom, and ability to connect with people will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy lives on through the family he loved, the friendships he cherished, and the countless lives he touched throughout his years.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation in support of Parkinson's disease research.

Forever loved, always remembered, and deeply missed.

Mary Lou Brad was a dedicated and professional police officer who I had the good fortune to know as as a co-worker and friend. He will be sorely missed but not forgotten

David K Hembruff - June 18, 2026

One of those special people, if you are lucky enough in life to meet. His personality was infectious. A fantastic street Police Officer, the years I worked in 41 Detective Office you could count on him and Rod Rosborough brining in a real bad guy, they had caught every week. Toronto was a better place because of him and a few officers like him. Rest in Peace, my good friend !

Diane Kirkwood - June 18, 2026

Great memories of us as kids, spending our summers up at our cottages on Kawagama Lake. Blessed. My mum and I were very happy to have a reunion with Brad a few years back at a police pensioners lunch in Florida. Sending my condolences to Mary Lou and all his family and friends.

Patricia Guest - June 18, 2026

Today I learned of the passing of my dear friend Brad. Brad was a proud member of the Toronto Police Service and one of the finest police partners anyone could ask for. Early in my career, he taught me so much about the job, but more importantly, he taught me about loyalty, integrity, and friendship. Brad had a wonderful sense of humour and was always ready for a laugh. He made even the toughest shifts more enjoyable and left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to work alongside him. Above all else, Brad loved his family dearly. They were his greatest pride and joy, and he spoke of them often. I am grateful for the years we worked together and for the friendship we shared. Brad will be deeply missed, but his memory, his laughter, and the lessons he taught me will stay with me forever. Rest easy, my friend. Thank you for everything.
