With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Freddy Jean Saman, born in Belgium on July 27, 1946, who passed away peacefully in June 10, 2026, surrounded by his family at Ed’s House Northumberland Hospice Care Centre in Cobourg.
Freddy was the beloved son of the late Albert and Angie Saman. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Margaret (McCavish) Saman, and their children: Debbie Tremblay, Freddy Jr. (Tracey), Steven (late Suzanne), Shawn (Sandy), and his predeceased girls, Shelli Ann and Rose.
He was a proud grandfather to Chadd, Kyle, Nicole, Corey, Jennifer, Kate, Alannah, Sophie, Emma, Kobe, and Dakota, and a cherished great-grandfather to Levi.
Freddy enjoyed fixing old cars and could often be found working on a project. He was always willing to lend a hand, share his knowledge, and help those around him. He will be remembered for his hardworking nature, generosity, and devotion to his family.
Freddy was a General Motors retiree 36 years.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the doctors and nurses at Peterborough Regional Health Centre, Dr. Mule, and the staff at Ed’s House Northumberland Hospice Care Centre for their compassion, kindness, and exceptional care.
In keeping with Freddy’s wishes, there will be no visitation or Celebration of Life.
