John Cecil "Jack" Chapman

July 28, 1935 - June 1, 2026

Jack now rests in peace after a valiant battle with dementia, leaving behind, but remaining forever with, the love of his life, Gail Chapman; devoted children, Brett, Chris, and Lisa (Morse); loving in-laws, Sepideh Eslahjou, Anne Topping, and Mike Morse; cherished grandchildren, Bijan, Ariana, Islabel, and Justin.

Jack loved to play golf. He also liked to spend endless hours in his workshop and last but not least he loved to spend time in his backyard with his family and friends.

The family invites friends and loved ones to celebrate Jack’s life from 2-4 pm on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at the house that Jack built at 14 Maplewood Blvd. Cobourg.

Donations may be made to the Canadian Blood Services, to which Jack regularly donated his blood throughout his life.

Mrs. Chapman, Brett, Chris and Lisa. Very sorry for the passing of Jack. Have spent the last few days reminiscing about all the times, memories (& even a few beer) that have shared with him. From 20 mile hikes, wilderness canoe trips to cannonballs in the backyard pool... He could brighten up a room just by peering inside it. Add his calm tone of voice and sense of humour, well, that made you feel good about just about everything around you. Will miss you Jack. Bruce and Jennie Catton

We have known Jack, starting the year he was brave enough to become the fist Precident of our Probus Club. Jack was a hit with his low key yet hilarious manner. He brought what a new club needed-laughter. For many years Jack and Bruce golfed together. No prizes but a lot of fun. Jack was always a gentleman leading Bruce in the Probus Annual Christmas Party. Behind Jack’s actions was a cunning intelligence. To Gail and the family we are sorry for your loss. Karen and Bruce
