Passed away peacefully with family by her side on Monday May 25th, 2026 at Ed’s House Hospice in Cobourg at the age of 92. Beloved wife of her first husband Eugene Chapin and second husband John Morris. Cherished mother to Jim (Diane) Chapin, Robert (Lynn) Chapin, Marion (Dennis) Reycraft, Mark (Norma) Chapin, Melanie (Geoff) Taylor and Gareth (Darlena) Morris. Grandma to 8 grandchildren and great-grandma of 10 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents George and Margaret and her son Charles. Jean will be dearly missed by many extended family and friends.
In keeping with Jean’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Colborne Legion Branch 187, on Thursday June 11th, 2026 from 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm.
The family would like to thank Ed’s House Hospice for their exception care and kindness of Jean and her family during their stay. If desired, memorial donation to Ed’s House Hospice or the War Amps would be appreciated by the family.
