Barbara Marie Lewis

June 5, 1949 - May 12, 2026

Barbara Marie Lewis, lovingly known as Barb, passed away peacefully at home on May 12, 2026, at the age of 76.

Born on June 5, 1949, in Plaster Rock, New Brunswick, Barb was the beloved daughter of Charles Tupper DeWolfe and Annette Lavoie.

Barb leaves behind her devoted husband, Raymond Lewis; her beloved daughter, Sarah; her son-in-law, Zoltan; her stepson Richard and his wife Catherine; her brother William (Bill), her sister Linda and their families; as well as many dear friends.

Above all else, Barb adored her two grandchildren, Jason and Millie, whom she loved deeply and devotedly. They were the light of her life, and some of her happiest moments were spent with them during sleepovers, family visits, outings, and attending plays together. Her grandchildren will miss her tremendously and will carry her love and memories with them forever.

Barb was a woman of faith and she deeply loved the Lord. Her church family was important to her. Barb will be remembered for her caring heart, quiet strength, generosity, and deep love for her family. She was a supportive and thoughtful presence to those around her and forever wished for peace and harmony among the people she loved. Her warmth, guidance, and love will continue to live on through the many lives she touched.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.

There will be a memorial service at Cobourg Alliance Church on Saturday May 23rd at 10am followed by a reception at the Church.

Wow, so sorry to hear of this sweet and cheerful woman's sudden passing. I just spoke with she and her good husband last week in a jovial conversation, so characteristic of Barb, just as they were finishing their shopping. How fleeting...and precious, life is. I am so grateful to have gotten to know this dear lady who lived out her faith with love, joy, a great sense of humour, helpfulness toward others and amazing cooking skills! Heaven's gain. By GOD's amazing grace, l sure hope to meet up again someday! Prayers for GOD's comfort, courage and strength for her family and friends at this sad time.

Barb was a good friend of mine for over 25 years. We both adopted children from China and would always celebrate Chinese New Year together as well as birthdays, barbecues, pool parties and many other activities. Barb was an avid theatre goer and I enjoyed attending many plays with her over the years. Sarah, your mom was so proud of you and she adored you, Ray, Zoltan and her grandkids. She had recently sent me pictures of Jason and Millie and said that they were the joys of her life! Barb was a very kind and loving person with such a great laugh and I will miss her very much. ❤️
