Ann Reid Currie

June 23, 1936 - May 4, 2026

Currie, Ann Reid – passed away peacefully on May 4, 2026 at the age of 89 in Cobourg, Ontario, surrounded by her three children.
Ann was born on June 23, 1936 to Ann and David Cramond in Verdun, Quebec.
She graduated from Verdun High School in 1953 and then started working for Canadian National Railway where she met her future husband of 54 years, Richard “Dick” Currie.
Ann devoted herself to raising her three children and only went back to working outside of the home in the early 1970’s when she joined Hoffman la Roche Canada in Vaudreuil, Quebec. On or about this time, she also decided to take up golf after telling her friends she had no intention of staying at home and becoming a golf widow.
Her passion for golf grew immensely over the years with memberships at Club de Golf L’Ile Perrot, followed by Summerlea Golf and Country Club, and then The Club at North Halton in Canada as well as Capri Isles Golf Club, and later Waterford Golf Club in Florida. This passion brought out her competitive spirit, beating her husband and children on a regular basis; accumulating 4 hole-in-ones; and winning seven Ladies Club Championships and one Senior Club Championship.
Ann is survived by her three children David, (Nancy) Deborah (Rob Chilton), and Andrew (Ann); along with seven grandchildren Michael, Heather (Tristan), Kristyn (Kosta), Daniel, Dayna, Kaylin and Chelsea; and five great grandchildren Charlie, Rowan, Pavlos, Nicolitsa, and Penelope.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband Richard James Currie, her parents Ann and David Cramond and sister Kay Guy.
A Celebration of Life will be held in September 2026 for close family members.
