Olive Mary Lemanczyk

December 9, 1929 - April 23, 2026

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Olive on April 23 at the age of 96 at the Milton District Hospital. Olive passed due to complications from 2 falls and a stroke that she could not recover from.

Olive leaves behind her son Paul Lemanczyk and his wife Annette and her daughter Katrina and husband Paul Mann. Her brother Raymond Clark and his wife Pearl & family of Australia. She is loved by her grandchildren Cassandra (Daniel), Liam, Vanessa, Donald and John-Paul as well as her great grandchildren Aiden and Easton. Survived by her son-in-law Pat and his wife Gayle

Predeceased by her two husbands Alec Lemanczyk and William “Bill” McNeill and her daughter Teresa McNeill.

Olive spent 11 years at Seasons Retirement home in Milton. While there, she made a huge impact on the staff and residents. Always willing to lend a hand and offer kind words. She was Ambassador for many years and represented the wishes of all residents of the home. She took charge of the library with her friend Ron to ensure a clean and fully stocked library for everyone to enjoy. Her creative touch made the library an inviting space for everyone to use and enjoy. Olive spent much of her time volunteering in the memory centre at Seasons. She helped raise funds to buy “fun” items for the residents from outdoor gardening tools, a BBQ, even a wheelbarrow and she made sure the residents had chocolate and cookie treats each Christmas. She did this in memory of her best friend Nean that suffered from Alzheimer’s for many years.

We would like to take the time to recognize and thank all the staff at Seasons Retirement home and Dr. Sadera and his staff for all the excellent care they provided to Olive/mom over the years.

Mom’s wishes were to be cremated, and her ashes scattered with a private family ceremony at a later date

We will miss you Olive/Mom/Nana. You were tired and in so much pain. Your death has left a huge void in our lives, but we find comfort in knowing that you are now at peace.

Olive was my auntie Olive and like a second mom to me. She was my mom, Nean’s best friend and they grew up in England together, side-by-side, from an early age. Best friends for life. So I grew up with her as family and have many happy memories to cherish. I feel both sadness and deep gratitude for our special bond and what she brought to my life. She was amazing, her stories, wisdom, strength, energy, laughter and love will forever remain in my heart and I will miss her always. For those who touch our lives, stay in our hearts forever. She was definitely very special and made a positive difference wherever she went. May she rest in peace now and deepest, heartfelt condolences to all of her family. Love always, Chris Young & family ❤️

To my Aunty Olive, I hope you enjoyed my many Christmas cards over the years usually with a pic or reference to a Log Cabin which I know you & Bill loved. Glad to read that you were active in the home & helping others in several ways. I will miss you but happy you can now be re-united with your life long best friend Lynn Budden. Love Andrew Budden

Oh how I will miss my big sister Olive who took care of me in my younger years and had a big impact on my life. Although we lived thousands of miles apart we shared lots of memories and laugher in our regular lengthy phone calls. When I remember the times she spent with me in Australia I cannot not smile at the fun we had and will hold those memories close to my heart. Cannot believe she is no longer with us but she will always be in my thoughts.

Pat and Gayle Murphy - May 2, 2026

Olive lived a long and eventful life during which she encountered more than her fair share of adversity. Throughout, she showed immense courage, determination and resourcefulness. Doggedly independent to the end, she was one of the strongest people we've ever known. She was truly an inspiration. It was our privilege to count her as a friend over multiple decades. We shall miss her. Pat & Gayle Murphy
