We are heartbroken at the loss of Bill Hancock. Sadly, he was taken from his family and his partner Larissa Goldheart, far too soon, on November 14th, 2025 in Calgary, Alberta. Bill was only 46 years young and had so much left to do. Bill was born at Cobourg hospital on May 10th, 1979. Over the years, Bill grew up in Port Hope, Peterborough, Roseneath and finally settled in his favourite place Harwood. Bill helped his parents build that house in Harwood from the ground up. Bill loved living near Rice Lake in his youth and enjoyed all the seasonal sports it had to offer. He was in his element, being in the “Great Outdoors”, he was a country boy through and through. Fishing, baseball, camping, canoeing, hunting, badminton and snowmobiling kept him entertained. This passion continued into his adult life. Bill loved to have fun. He graduated CDCI East high school in June of 1997 and became a Jack of many trades as a farm labourer, construction worker, an electrician (former owner of Oak Ridges Electrical in Ontario). Then after Bill moved to Alberta in 2008, he was a roofer, had a small engine repair shop, former owner of WH Hancock Contract and was working at his dream job as a heavy equipment operator for Syncrude in Fort MacMurray, Alberta. Bill leaves behind his only son, Tyler Hancock, that he loved dearly. Although, Tyler lives in Ontario, he was always a big part of Bill’s heart. Bill was bigger than life, always sharing his hearty laughter, huge smiles and loving bear hugs to others. The short time he was here, Bill lived life on his terms and to the fullest. His energy, kindness, story telling and humour will be greatly missed but he will be forever in our hearts. Bill’s life touched many and left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He was the beloved partner of Larissa Goldhart. Loving son of Fay Kehoe (Ralph George) and Rob Hancock (Becky). Loving father of Tyler Hancock. Dear brother of Scott Hancock (Laiken Irwin Ross). Cherished nephew to Jane Matthews (Jack), Susan Blanchette (Ray), Fern Kehoe (Charlie), Penny Behan, Dennis Kehoe (Shirley), Donna Kehoe-Eggleton (Chris), Sheila Cooney (Pete), Eva Hancock, Fred Hancock (Lisa) and Bradley Hancock. Devoted grandson of the late Kellie Kehoe, Terry Kehoe (Mary Slade) and Allen Hancock (Louise). Also missed by many cousins and friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Bill’s life on Sunday May 10th at the MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King St., E., Cobourg from 1-4 pm.
