Beppie was a wonderful lady who had a great life! She was our neighbour for a few short years on Pebble Beach and we loved visiting her, sharing stories of life in The Netherlands! We send our condolences to her family.

Brian Shea - March 28, 2026

I first met Beppie at the bridge club almost 20 years ago. She was a marvel - well organized, knowledgeable and a woman of strong opinions. I came to know her well and spent many hours at her lakeside home listening to the stories of her travels, her war years and the family she so dearly cared about. No matter the time of day, she was always ensconced in her favorite chair impeccably dressed with the daily paper close at hand, often with something cut out which she thought I might find of interest. My sincere condolences to her family.

Brenda Quinn - March 28, 2026

I first met Beppie back in 1973 when I joined Winchester Western as a very junior secretary. Beppie was Secretary to the General Manager and back in those days she was called the "head secretary". I was fresh out of secretarial school and this was my first job. Beppie was a role model and mentor to me. She was so professional and I admired her greatly. Many, many years later I reconnected with her through our flower shop when her family would send her flowers that I would deliver to her. She was a lovely and charming woman. Rest in peace, Beppie.

I had the privilege of knowing Beppie for close to fifty years. I first met her when I was teaching night school bridge at the East Collegiate where she and Larry were in my class. Not long after they became valued members of the Cobourg Duplicate Bridge Club. Beppie was such an elegant lady and she had a gift for story telling- always sharing wonderful memories of her and Larry’s adventures. She will be fondly remembered. My heartfelt condolences to her family.

Charlotte Baan - March 28, 2026

In loving memory of our aunt Bep, who lived a full and remarkable life of 103 years. Born in the Dutch East Indies and partly raised in the Netherlands, with Dutch-Indonesian roots, she found her way to Canada after the liberation. Following love across the Ocean. I was always fascinated by her life story and by how much she reminded me of my grandmother. I experienced Bep as very much her own person, organized, sharp and with a warm sense of humor. She stayed closely connected to the Netherlands: my mother used to send her Dutch newspaper clippings and she followed it all with great interest, curious and engaged. She was strong in the way the women in our family are grounded, resilient and powerful . For us she was the bridge between generations, cultures and continents. From Holland we say goodbye with love and respect, On behalf of her Dutch family, Charlotte Baan

I have had the pleasure of knowing Beppie these past 18years. An accomplished bridge player and a lovely person. Visited many times at her lovely home on Lake Ontario and was always amazed at her energy, thoughtfulness and keen insightful manner. I send sincere condolences to family and will miss a dear friend. Ron

Such a special lady, if the front door was open her lipstick on she would be ready to welcome you into her home. She read the paper daily and continued to follow world events along with local news. She was very proud of her family and always shared photos. Thank you for sharing her with us as she was a treasure.

Patricia Doktor - March 27, 2026

I’ve known Beppie for just over 12 years and she was a delightful friend. We sometimes played Bridge together and she was a skillful player. We had many pleasant visits at her home which looked out over the lake. She will be missed. Rest in peace Beppie.

My Family and I have lived in the Pebble Beach Neighbourhood for nearly 30 years and we all enjoyed our special relationship(s) with "Mrs. Tucker." (That absolutely included several of our dogs, who she always welcomed into her home!). I did a number of maintenance jobs for her over the years, but it was our many, many visits and chats that are burned into my memory. They covered everything from neighbourhood gossip, political policies and Canada to my family's well being and enthralling stories of her youth. The world was a better place with her in it. She was a lady of class, a proud Canadian, who remained very proud of her heritage. I was privileged to have been her friend and will remember her always.

So sorry to hear of Aunt Beppie’s passing. My late husband David was quite fond of his Aunt Beppie and used to love “surprising” her with a visit when he was in the area. I believe that she has had the last laugh surprising him in Heaven with her beautiful wings on. My deepest condolences to her siblings’ family and to all those that loved her.
