Oliver Dean Westbrook of Cobourg, ON, in his 85th year, passed on March 17th , 2026 surrounded by his family. Survived by his wife, Gail of 47 years, children Jeff, Jackie, Sara, and Amy, 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. Predeceased by son Jeremy. Cremation has taken place. In keeping with Dean’s wishes, there will be no public memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations to Ed’s House Northumberland Hospice Care Centre would be appreciated by the family.
Gail, I am so sorry to hear of Dean's passing. Such a friendly, cheerful man. Many will miss and remember him, so take comfort in that. Alma

Condolences to Dean's family & to his Westbrook siblings, my cousins. I'm sure Oliver & Thelma along with Charlie & Vera were waiting for him.
My sincere condolences at the loss of Dean who was known as a Son, Brother, Dad, Husband, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Cousin and Friend. Wishing each of you peace as you grieve the loss and remember all that he was to each of you. Always remember love never dies.

I first worked with Dean in the old 25 Div. DRPF when he was the D/SGT in CIB, then later when he was the Divisional Insp. He was a good boss & a good man. Condolences to Gail & all the family.

Gail, Truly saddened to learn of Deans passing. Many fond memories with lots of laughter especially during a vacation in Lunenburg. There was also the serious side of our relationship when I reported to superintendent Westbrook certainly one of respect. I still remember his words of sincere advice during a difficult situation. During our retirements we moved in different directions although we infrequently spoke by telephone .Until reading my email from the association of Deans passing I believed that Gail and Dean were still residing in Lunenburg. I had the pleasure of knowing Dean through the Cobourg Lions Club. We worked shoulder to shoulder on several projects and it was always a pleasure talking with him. To his family I offer my sincere condolences
