It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Keith Osborne Anderson on March 2, 2026.
A man of immense skill and dedication, Keith spent his career as an ironworker and welder. He was a true pioneer in his field, notably becoming the first in Toronto to receive certification to perform welding within the Don River and during the expansion of the Toronto subway system.
Moved by a tragic accident involving a child in Toronto, he later designed and created heavy steel safety side bars for snow plows — a testament to his ingenuity and his concern for the safety of others.
After retiring from his trade, Keith’s passion for building never faded. He went on to build houses from the foundation up, continuing to work well into his later years and never truly stopping until he was 90 years old. His life reflected an extraordinary work ethic, craftsmanship, and determination.
Keith is survived by his daughters: Karen Anderson; Kelly (John) Fitzgerald; Marie Anderson; and Michele
Anderson. He also leaves behind ten grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to Dr. Kent Tisher for his compassionate palliative care, as well as the staff and volunteers at Ed’s House Northumberland Hospice Care Centre for the exceptional support and comfort they provided during his final journey.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Keith’s memory to Ed’s House Northumberland Hospice Care Centre or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada would be sincerely appreciated.
