Peacefully at Trenton Memorial Hospital on Tuesday March 3rd, 2026 in her 98th year. Beloved wife of the late Dean Chapman. Loving mother of Gail Chisholm (Ryan), Cheryl Bird (Paul) and the late Bradley. Loving grandmother of Scott Chisholm (Annette), Allison Casteels (Michael), Katie Chisholm, Stephanie Sopaz (Kyle) and Emily Koopmans (Kevin) and great grandmother of Zoe, Addie, Dean, Jack, Max, Maddie, Henry, Etta, Olivia, Anna, Jonas and Kaiden. Ruth will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. Pre-deceased by her parents Harold and Eva Mutton and her brothers Gordon and Charlie Mutton.
Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Ruth’s life at the Keeler Centre on Sunday March 15th from 2:30 – 4:30 pm. Cremation with interment in Shiloh Cemetery on at a later date.

Gail. Cheryl and family I am so sorry to hear about Ruth, She was such a good friend and miss sitting with her in Church. She always had some story about some of her family. She was so proud of each of you. Always knew when there was a new arrival in the family and usually had a picture to show me. Years ago we worked together for teas, luncheons etc. at Colborne U.CW. and was always there with her friendly smile . My condolences to each of her family. She will be missed!

Ruth was very close to our grandmother Marjorie Purdy (Mutton), her first cousin. We knew this because of the pictures and stories 'Nanna' would tell us. Even though our Nanna passed away almost 40 years ago, Ruth still kept in touch with our dad Ron through weekly phone calls in the past few years. He will miss those calls. Our condolences on your loss of a remarkable woman. May she be at Peace and be reconnected with her family who have gone before her.

My deepest condolences. I have many wonderful memories of Ruth. I met her on my first day in Colborne in 2008 and she immediately gave me an Apple pie to give to my parents for their anniversary. Our condolences to Gail, Cheryl and their families. I remember going to my first Shiloh tea at Aunt Beryls and finding that Ruth Chapman’s apple pies were a hot commodity. People lined up to get one before they were gone and she always made plenty but they always ran out. She was committed to her community and church in so many ways and will be remembered for her kindness and generosity. In recent years, during visits, I heard stories of the past and also stories of her grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she loved and cherished as she pointed out each one as they came up on her digital picture frame. So very proud of them all. Cherish your many memories. Keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers.
Gail, Cheryl and families, It's never easy to lose someone who has been close and an active person in our lives. Our sympathy to all of you. I first met your Mother many years ago as we were both members of the Order of the Eastern Star, Your Mom and Dad served Colborne Chapter as Worthy Matron and Worthy Patron in 1980/81. Your Mom was later appointed a Grand Representative by the Worthy Grand Matron of Ontario, a position very few ever received. Ruth was our mothers first cousin. We have known her all our lives,and will surley miss her presence. We know how fortunate she said she was to have Gail,Cheryl and have had Bradley so close to her. We now picture Ruth at peace.

She loved her family so much and would always give updates when talking to her. She was a great friend to our Mom as well, and many stories to tell of their adventures in younger years.
