Leona (Lee) Ann Baril (nee Belanger) passed away suddenly on February 28 at the age of 78.
Lee was predeceased by her parents, Victor and Millie Belanger; her brother Rene; her sister, Anita; her husband, Donald; and her son David. She will be much missed by her daughter, Cathy Witlox; son-in-law, Wes; brother, Paul (Carole); daughter-in-law, Juanita; and grandsons, Nigel and Justin.
Having grown up in Brockville, Lee moved with her husband to Barrie and later to Bracebridge, where they lived out their dream of life in Muskoka. Upon Don’s death, Lee moved closer to her daughter and son, settling first at Wilmot Creek in Newcastle and then in Cobourg.
Lee spent the last year of her life at Roseglen Village in Port Hope, where she greatly enjoyed poker Fridays and the company of tablemates at meals. Her family is grateful to the people who made Lee feel at home there.
A celebration of life and interment will take place in May in Prescott, Ontario.
