Doris Marie Clarey (née Mackie, formerly Iles)

January 16, 1938 - February 11, 2026

Doris passed away peacefully on Wednesday afternoon, February 11, 2026, at Warkworth Place, with her daughter by her side and her favorite music gently playing. She was 88 years old.
Doris was the beloved wife of the late Richard (Dick) Clarey. She was the much-loved mother to Bill Iles (Deidre), Steve Iles (Colleen), and Jeannie Clarey-Williams (John).
She was a classic, cherished & very loved grandmother to Katelyn Iles-Cripps (Carl), Jonathan Iles (Drew), Mack Kearns (Shayla), Brianna Iles-McLaughlin (Anthony), Clarey Kearns, Ava Williams (Liam), Keaghan Iles (Jamie), and Owen Williams. She was also a loving Great-Grandma to five precious little ones.
Doris was predeceased by her parents, Alex and Clela Mackie; her brothers, Alex Mackie (Thelma) and Scotty Mackie (Shirley); her sister, Jean McKeown (Ross); and her brother-in-law, Jim Clarey (Nancy).
She will be deeply missed by her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends whose lives she touched throughout the years.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the compassionate staff at Warkworth Place, Applefest Retirement Lodge, and the Northumberland Paramedicine Program for their care and kindness.
Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at Old St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church on Saturday May 2nd, 2026 at 1 pm., followed by a gathering in the church hall.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CNIB (Canadian National Institute for the Blind) or Diabetes Canada in Doris’s memory.

Christie Biscuit - March 2, 2026

I have such fond memories of my Aunt Doris and Uncle Dick. They gave me the nickname Christie Biscuit :-) and it still makes me smile warmly when I hear it. I will forever cherish the time I spent on the farm in the summers. Playing dress up in Aunt Doris' shoes, wedding showers and parties, pushing kittens around in our doll carriages, and being teased a lot for being a city slicker lol. I always felt loved and cared for. Thank you for the love and the great memories Aunt Doris xo Sending our deepest sympathies to my cousins Bill, Stephen and Jeanie and their families. Love you. Christine, Steve, Cali Rayne & Hudson Miller
