Victor "Wayne" Palmer

July 17, 1951 - February 7, 2026

Victor "Wayne" Palmer passed away peacefully on February 7, 2026, in Cobourg, Ontario, in his 75th year. He was surrounded by his family and the compassionate care team of the ICU at Northumberland Hills Hospital.

Born on July 17, 1951, in Toronto, Ontario, Wayne lived a life rich with connection, laughter, and unwavering values. He was a man who placed truth, integrity, and family above all else—principles that shaped not only his own life but also left a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to know him.

Wayne was the cherished father of Dale and Deanna (Sean), and a devoted grandfather to LeeAnn (Mike), Michael (Chantelle), Christine (Greg), Chris (Kate), Sharayah (Garreth), and Melissa. His love extended across generations to his great-grandchildren: Johnathan, Mya, Chloe, Jewel Lee, Matthew, Jessica, Brooke, Bryson, Hunter, Charlotte and Mallory. He was also an honorary grandfather to Steven and Parham—roles he embraced with warmth and pride.

He is lovingly remembered by his sister Fran (Frank) and nephew Tyler (Laura). Wayne’s circle of love included many others as well; he shared a deep bond with his best friend and housemate of over 30 years, John Manahan. Their enduring friendship was a testament to loyalty and companionship.

Wayne was predeceased by his parents Victor and Elizabeth "Betty," his brother George, sister Sharon, nephew Matthew, and dear friend Larry. Though they are gone from this world, their memories remained close to Wayne’s heart throughout his life.

A man of many passions—too many to list—Wayne found joy in music and dancing. These were not just hobbies but expressions of his vibrant spirit. He loved games of chance like bingo and slot machines and delighted in spontaneous road trips or evenings at the drive-in movies. Losing the ability to enjoy these simple pleasures in recent years was especially difficult for him.

Wayne had an extraordinary gift for conversation. Whether offering advice or sharing stories that sparked laughter or reflection, he was often the first person people turned to in times of need. His spontaneity became the foundation for countless cherished memories among friends and family alike.

His legacy lives on through the values he held dear: honesty without compromise, steadfast integrity, and an unshakable devotion to those he loved. Wayne's presence brought comfort during hard times and joy during good ones—a rare gift that will be deeply missed.

May his memory bring peace to all who knew him.

MESSAGES OF CONDOLENCE / DONATIONS

Phil Kestin - February 14, 2026

Wayne was a great friend. Even though we haven't seen eachother in many years, I know if we met up tomorrow, it would have been like we were sharing laughs yesterday. he's a guy that wouldnt hesitate to help if you needed him. I know that first hand (and forever grateful for) when he put a roof over my head for a couple weeks, when I suddenly became homeless. So many songs remind me of him and some really good times. Rest in peace my good friend. until we meet again, hit that dance floor in heaven 🍻
