Peacefully at Ed’s house on February 5th in her 96th year. She was pre deceased by her brother Harold and her sister Hazel. Orletta will be deeply missed by her husband Douglas. Cherished mother to Garry (Rosanne) and Gayle (David). Loving grandmother to Nathan, Todd, Steven, and Bobbi. Great grandmother to Liam, Reese, Riley, Raya, Marshal, Nash, Xzavier and Zach.
A memorial service will be held at Old St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Colborne on Saturday Feb 28th at 1pm. 45 King St E, Colborne, ON K0K 1S0. Memorial donations in memory of Orletta can be made to Ed's House Northumberland Hospice.

I didn’t truly get to know my Aunt Orletta until I was an adult, and I’m grateful for the time we did have. By then, I was able to see more clearly the kind of woman she was — deeply committed, fiercely loyal, and quietly strong. She was an active and devoted member of her community and her church. Her faith and service were not casual; they were woven into the fabric of her life. She gave of herself steadily and faithfully. She was also a loyal and attentive sister to my father, Harold. Aunt Orletta, Aunt Hazel, and Dad stayed closely connected through their later years. There was something steady and reassuring about that bond. Family was everything to her — not just in word, but in action. I will always remember her unwavering determination to find answers to her immune health challenges. She pursued solutions not only for herself, but with the hope that what she learned might help others — including members of our own family tree who face similar struggles. Though she did not find the resolution she sought, her perseverance was a testament to her strength and her care for others. Aunt Orletta, thank you for your tenacity. Thank you for your loyalty. And thank you for hanging in there as long as you did. You were the last of the Harnden siblings, and in staying with us, you gave me a living connection to my dad for just a little longer. I will remember you you with great fondness.

Doug, Gary, Gayle and family, We have so many wonderful memories of Orletta. She was a weekly visitor to my beauty salon in Colborne, we shared a lots of visits and lots of laughs. There was the time when she called me and said she wasn't sure she had paid for her appointment, I said I didn't have anyway of checking it and suggested she buy a lottery ticket, no luck, but we always laughed about the day. The Simpsons were neighbours of Doug and Orletta, and always were grateful to have such good and caring friends next door. Our sympathy to all of you. Barry and Carolynn
