Glorya Woods passed away on January 22, 2026 at the age of 95. She had a very successful career in television with the CBC and also did well with local real estate.
Glorya’s true joy, however, lay in her love of nature. She cherished her years with her husband Grahame at their farm in Morganston. A dog and cat were always near by.
Glorya’s beautiful garden in Cobourg was a testament to her green thumb. Her photography captured many pictures of flowers and backyard animals. In her later years at Legion Village she devoted herself to caring for her beloved husband who predeceased her. Glorya led an interesting and fulfilling life. She will be missed by her niece Helena, her nephew Matthew, her cousin Barbara and her devoted friends, Edward, Diana, and Bonnie.
We met Glorya and Grahame at Legion Village. They were our neighbours. Glorya always had a smile and kind word when we would see her and Grahame passing in the hall. Our condolences go out to her family and friends.
We are saddened to hear of Glorya’s passing. Glorya was a wonderful volunteer, and we are grateful for her 14 years of volunteerism with the Northumberland Hills Hospital Auxiliary from 2002 to 2016. On behalf of the NHH staff, volunteer team and NHH Auxiliary board we send our condolences to Glorya’s loved ones.
Very kind, sweet lady. Served her in dining room at Legion Village for many years, always a smile on her face. RIP Glorya
Gloria was a very wonderful, smart and respected lady that lived life fully. Glad to have known such a fine lady.
Deepest condolences to Glorya’s family and our hearts are deeply saddened by her passing. She was a cherished member of the Morganston farm community and a trailblazer as the first woman councillor in Cramahe Township. I’ll always remember her kindness and the spirit she brought to the fitness class.
Dear family Joe and I first met Gloria when she moved to Morganston. She was a very friendly and helpful person who made history by becoming the first female on Cramahe council. May your happy times sustain you at this time. Sue and Joe La Berge
Glorya was a neighbour of ours here at Legion Village. She was friendly with a smile and a hello as she went down for her meals. RIP Glorya
I grew up in Morganston on a farm that was down the road in from Glorya and Grahame. When they would go on holidays, my family and I would look after their animals. We had a dairy farm but I always thought it was so neat to see sheep, peacocks, ducks and geese as other animals to care for once or twice a year. My most vivid memory of them is the mean old gander they had that didn’t like me and at Halloween they had amazing homemade treats for us! They were great neighbours and we missed them when they left for Cobourg.
I met Glorya almost 4 years ago when I started at Legion Village and will miss her smiling face in the dining room.
