William Patrick Downs

March 15, 1952 - January 16, 2026

Downs, William Patrick (Bill/Billy/Dad) - Passed away at Northumberland Hill's Hospital January 16th, 2026, in his 73rd year.

William was the beloved husband of 43 years to Deanna (nee Ogborne), and a devoted and loving father to his son Daniel (Laura). He was a proud grandfather to Adalyn, whom he cherished deeply and was overjoyed to have met, and he shared a special bond with his beloved grand-puppy, Henry. William will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

A hardworking, and dedicated man, William spent his life providing for and supporting his family and friends. Through his tireless effort, quiet guidance, and unwavering love, he helped to shape the lives of those around him. He taught by example - showing the importance of perseverance, responsibility, humour, and care for others.

He was predeceased by his mother Eleanor, father Jack (John), brothers Joe and Paul, and his cherished dogs Tisha and Hailey.

Above all, William was a devoted family man. His love and commitment never wavered, and his presence will be felt in the lives he touched and the lessons he passed on.

Cremation will be taking place in accordance with William's wishes, and there will be no service.

He will be remembered with love, gratitude, and respect.

Time to rest now Dad/Bill, you will be greatly missed and we love you always.

We so wish we could be there for you, Dan and Sheila at this time, but we'll be home in a couple of weeks. Billy was always there if you needed help, always good for a laugh or two, good at being a s*** disturber or to help things a long then sit back and chuckle. We know how hard it was for him NOT to be able to help do things in the end, BUT that's what friends are for and we know if the shoe was on the other foot, he would have been there for us. He will be deeply missed by all those close to him and loved always! Our hearts go out to you Miss Deanna on the loss of your "Billy" and to you Daniel on the loss of your dad. Remember all the good times and all the laughs. He is now watching over all of you and will keep you safe especially his beautiful granddaughter whom he thought was absolutely wonderful. Love always, Doug and Ellyn
