On Sunday, January 11, 2026, David Larkman of Port Hope, Ontario passed away peacefully, while surrounded by his wife, daughters, and beloved dog.
David was born and raised in England and he loved to share stories of his home town, Water Orton. David initially worked as a draftsman, where he met the love of his life, Barbara. Shortly after marriage, the happy couple moved to Canada where David enjoyed a rewarding career in the nuclear energy industry.

David is survived by his wife of 61 years, Barbara, their two daughters Nicole (Hugh) and Heidi (Jeff), and his two grandsons, Bryn and Ryan.
The family would like to thank the staff and volunteers at Ed’s House Northumberland Hospice Care Centre, Cobourg for their kindness and exceptional care, Lynn Liddell for her support during this difficult time, along with many friends and family members who offered condolences and special memories.
We ask that you remember David not with sadness, but in the spirit of which he lived his life and the impact it had on all who knew him.

To Barbara, Heidi and Nicole, I send my condolences. In all the years that I worked with David, my memories of him include so much humour mixed in with his technical skills and stories about the dogs. I don't remember David having a single "grumpy" day. We at work were blessed with learning all there was about Water Orton. I will miss the occasional post retirement encounters which still included humor and dog updates of course.
Dear Barb and family, My sincere condolences on the passing of your beloved David. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Lynn Holland.
Dear Barb and family, I am sorry to read of David's death. Please accept my condolences at this sad time.
I first met Dave and family in 1982. We became neighbors and also worked side by side in Lab 79. We continued to see each other at the Cameco Quarter Century Dinners. Dave was a guiding hand and a very positive person. He was very passionate about family and his beloved dogs. To Barb, Nicole and Heidi, nothing but wonderful memories of Dave.

I had the pleasure of working with David over the years. Not in direct contact but he always stopped to say hi and have a chat now and then. I am so sorry for your loss.
I was fortunate to work with Dave, during my career, he was a great man, full of knowledge, that he gladly shared, helped me out numerous times, one person I missed after I left work.
