Randy Philip Sanders, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2026, at Ed’s House, with his wife at his side. He was born on May 2, 1954, in Port Hope, Ontario, to Howard and Peggy (Rhines) Sanders. Randy led a life filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished by all who knew him.
He was a devoted husband to Debra, who stood by his side through thick and thin, and together they created a warm, loving home.
He is survived by his two children, Derek (Cheryl) and Alyssa (Andy) and his stepchildren, Amy (Nate) and Adam (Amy) who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts. Randy was also a proud grandfather to: Makayla, Kayleigh, Jaylynn, Maisie, and Hattie. Randy was also a step-grandfather to Keegan.
Randy was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Howard and Peggy and his brother, Ray (Paula). He also leaves behind his brothers Zeke, Paul (Leslie), and Barry (Darlene, predeceased), as well as sister Susan. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, friends, and in-laws, all of whom were touched by his gentle spirit and the kindness.
Randy was a gentle and kind soul, known for his dry sense of humor and playful teasing that brought joy to those around him. His ability to connect with others, often with just a few carefully chosen words, made him a cherished presence in the lives of his family and friends.
A special thanks to Dr. Everdell and the incredible staff at Ed’s House for providing exceptional care and support during Randy’s final days. Their dedication and compassion will forever be appreciated by his family.
A private family service will be held to celebrate Randy’s life. The family would like to invite family and friends to join them for a celebration of life on Saturday January 24th from 1:00pm - 4:00pm at the Port Hope Lions Centre. Please no flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Ed’s House Northumberland Hospice.

Dear Debbie and Family. With our most sincere and kind thoughts of sympathy in your heartbreaking loss of Randy. I (Brenda) went all though public and high school with Randy and then worked with him for many years at Belden. I remember that Randy was always good natured and very accomplished in his position of Purchasing Agent for Belden. Both he and Debbie were good friends to so many people who worked with both of them there. Rest in peace, Randy. To Debbie and children, I hope that your memories will help to comfort you in the days, weeks and years ahead.
Sending our deepest sympathies to all the family. Mike and Sharon McBride
