Richard “Rick” Munn, age 75, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a lifetime of laughter, love, and very well-planned ski trips.
Rick was best known for his great sense of humour and his genuine kindness. He was a proud and devoted dad to his boys, Alex and Colin, and happily welcomed their partners, Emily and Olivia, into the family. One of his greatest joys was the annual ski trips—so important to him that planning the meals for the "next" trip often began before the current one was finished. Time together mattered to Rick, and he made sure it was enjoyed.
A loyal fan of the Cobourg Cougars, Rick spent many Monday evenings at the rink with the unofficial coaches in the crowd, sharing opinions, laughs, and a deep love of the game.
Rick is also survived by his loving partner, Sheila (McCaughey) Gallagher; his sister, Patricia Gamble, and her husband, Rick; his nieces and nephews; and many extended family members and friends who were lucky to know him.
Rick worked for an impressive 47 years at Zurich Life and Zurich Insurance, a testament to his dedication, integrity, and steady nature.
Rick was, quite simply, the kindest man. His favourite phrase—"It’s good to laugh”—captures how he lived and how he would want to be remembered.
The family extends sincere thanks to Dr. Cameron and the staff at Ed’s House for their exceptional care and compassion. Donations in Rick’s memory may be made to Ed’s House.
A celebration of Rick’s life will be planned in the near future.
So sorry to hear about your loss my thoughts and prayers are with you and the family at this difficult time. Rick is going to be missed by many. Rest In Peace Rick.
