To the Dalgarno family, so saddened to hear this news. He loved you all so much and loved life. Always teaching! He supported and embraced every activity. I was fortunate to learn from him, share 'The West' with him as well as Cobourg sports. Proud to know him! He will be missed. Sending sincere love and condolences.
My husband, David Mitchell, was fortunate to have Art as his high school chemistry teacher, and he credited him with igniting an interest in chemistry, which he pursued at university before his lifelong career as a research chemist. I hope Art knew what a strong mentor he was to his students.
To Nancy and family, I'm so saddened to hear of Mr. Dalgarno's passing. As a former chemistry student of his, I will always remember him as Mr. Dalgarno. He set the table for the periodic table. He made science exciting. And for that, I'll always be grateful.
Too many lovely and fun memories to enumerate as a fellow high school mate to Art, as a teaching colleague and as a close friend to Ralph and Carolyn. My sincere thoughts and wishes to you Nancy and your family at this very sad time. Susie

I'm not sure if there any more accolades left to describe Art. He was such a genuine and sincere gentleman. Everyone just loved Art for being Art! He was a well loved educator and a friend to all. Definitely, he was one of a kind and a wonderful role model for all of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We're all going to miss him, his smile, and his sense of humour. Sincere condolences. Arthur Brunt Dalgarno November 5, 1939 - December 26, 2025 "Rest in Peace"
Nancy and family, sending our deepest condolences. I remember getting rides to the golf course with Art and Bev Howard after school. Art would tell me that Bev would shoot a 78. Half way up the 15th hole Bev walked off the course. I asked Art where he was going. Art said he was going home he had shot his 78. Two of my favourite teachers in high school.
Sending thoughts and prayers to the family.

My sons went to CDCI West and often brought home stories of the wonderful things Mr. Dalgarno was doing - like giving an outrageously large donation to some important school project. He was one of the outstanding teachers at that wonderful school, and many lives were touched in a positive way - including the many who benefited from his basketball coaching
