Grafton would not have been the same without a trip to the meat store. Your mom knew every one by name as well as their children. Her smile will always be associated with her name. Her family were raised with in a loving close way. So many stories her children and grandkids must have so many memories To treasure. We are very glad to have known her. May you all find comfort in knowing what a wonderful mom you had.

So many memories as a child going into the shop in both locations to get some meat, especially the Sunday roast with a wee bit of fat, as she always said when wrapping it up for Mom. When we moved away, she was the most faithful letter writer and we delighted to receive her hand written notes in our mail box full of news about her family. To the Calder family, I offer my sincere condolences on the passing of Mrs. Calder. Our family knew yours from the days of Calder's Meats in Grafton and later at the original Fisher's in Cobourg. And my mother knew a lot of the family members from her days at Grafton Public School. More recently. The Cobourg Legion Pipe Bamd would pause in front of Mrs. Calder's house in Grafton to serenade her during our parades. We will all miss her.

Gosh, I was really young when Calder’s was on the corner.. I want to say somewhere between 3 & 6 years old.
