It is with deep sadness, yet a sense of peace, that we share the passing of Jean Marie Cane (née Elder) of Cobourg, in her 86th year. Jean passed away peacefully on December 11 at Northumberland Hills Hospital, surrounded by her family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ken Cane. Jean was a loving mother to Joanne Hall and a cherished grandmother to Nigel (Christine) and Nathan Hall. She was also incredibly proud of her great-granddaughters, Natalie and Caleigh. Jean was predeceased by her siblings, Keith, Harlan, and Willis, as well as by Ken’s many brothers and sisters. She was a loving aunt to her many nieces and nephews.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the staff of Ward 2B at Northumberland Hills Hospital, the compassionate Palliative Care team, and Dr. Francesco Mule. We are deeply grateful for their guidance, care, and support during this time. Cremation has taken place, and a private family burial will be held at a later date.
Jean had a deep love for all animals—from watching the many birds and squirrels outside her window to caring for her own beloved pets. In honour of Jean, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Northumberland Humane Society.
