November 22, 1943 - December 6, 2025

With heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of John Harold Sasseville, at Northumberland Hills Hospital, in Cobourg. He was born November 22, 1943, and passed away December 6, 2025.
Loving father of Tamara Grant (Colin), the late Corporal John Sasseville and Jennifer Woolacott (Steve). Proud grandfather of Brandon Hiebert-Burgess, Jake Grant (Emily), Alexandra Woolacott (Jared), Reese Grant, and MacKenzie Woolacott (Kyle). Will be remembered by Great Grandsons, Noah and Luke Grant.
Survived by brothers, James and Joseph Sasseville and sisters, Lorraine Brimacombe (Russell), Betty Terry-Quinn (Dave), June Stapleton (Morris), Daisy McNamara (Bob), and Dianne Shannon (David). Son of the late Edmond and Doreen Sasseville (nee, Hunter).
John was also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Fondly remembered by special friend, Lynn Johnstone.

John retired from General Foods (Kraft) after 40 years of service and enjoyed his retirement, travelling to many places throughout the world. He took pride in his family and home, enjoyed football, (Buffalo Bills) and hosted many family gatherings. He loved watching Westerns and listening to George Strait. He was greatly loved and will be missed by many, especially his cat, Mitsy.
We would like to extend our gratitude to the nurses and doctors at Northumberland Hills Hospital.

A private family service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He will be laid to rest at the Union Cemetery in Cobourg.

In lieu of flowers donations appreciated to Northumberland Humane Society, and Heart & Stroke Foundation.

As my grandma would always bring him along to babysit me and my brother. he was a bundle of joy and always knew how to make us laugh. I will always remember him taking us to Swiss Chalet, slipping us $20 and telling us not to tell our grandma. He was a very kind, loving man and he will be greatly missed.
