Leela Phylis McAllister

McAllister, Leela Phylis — Passed peacefully at Extendicare, Cobourg, on Sunday, Oct 12, 2025, in her 91st year. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Merle. Loving mother of Shirlee (Frank) and Michael (Annette). Dear Nana of Mathieu (Jonathan), Corinna (Joseph), Randelle (Troy), and Claire (Joel). Cherished great-nana of Jackson and Olivia, who enjoyed visiting and filling her bird feeders.
Leela and her witty sense of humour will be missed. She was dearly loved by her family, famous for her date squares (Michael’s favorites) and shortbread cookies (her grandkids’ favorites). She found joy in the simple things, a good book, long walks, conversations with her family and friends, and golfing with the local ladies.
In keeping with Leela’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family interment will take place at the Heritage Cemetery of St. Peter, Cobourg.
The family would like to thank the Birch House staff for their dedication and compassion during Leela’s residency at Extendicare.
