It is with heavy hearts the family of Alfred Donald Driver announce his peaceful passing on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at the age of 89
at Northumberland Hills Hospital in Cobourg.
Alfred will be remembered as our much-loved Dad, Husband, Grandpa, friend, colleague, neighbour and a highly respected expert in his field of business.
Alfred will be sorely missed by his wife of 66 years Nina Driver (nee Diduch) and his four children and their spouses, Heather-Anne (Robert Maxwell) Driver, Dean (Vicky) Driver, Kelly-Lynn (Randy) Burns and Darren (Jean Wilkinson) Driver. His legacy will live on through his cherished grandchildren, Dylan (Ellisia Calvo) Burns, Jacob Burns and Connor Burns. He will be remembered for the many work stories that he told with passion and a smile!
Originally from Winnipeg, Alfred was the son of the late Alfred and Florence Driver as well as the youngest sibling of his sister (recently passed) Shirley Elwood. He is survived by his two sisters Ruth Landau, and Dianne Nelson and will fondly be remembered by them and by his brother-in-law Paddy Elwood, and nieces and nephews Patrick, Norma, David, Cindy, Joel, Linda, Johnny, Darryl, Robbie, and Dennis and their partners and children.
Alfred's family would like to extend their thanks, and deep gratitude to the staff of the Northumberland Hills Hospital Unit 2B, and the Northumberland Community Paramedic Program for their ongoing care, and a special thank you to nurse Caroline, and to Dr. Chen, Dr. Mule’ and Dr. Daskalopoulos. Their devoted, compassionate care meant a great deal to Alfred's family.

Nina and family, I am saddened to hear about Al's death. He is such a good man. He will be greatly missed. It brings me comfort to know that he is reunited with his good friends, my parents, Lou and Vera. I am sure that they are sharing lots of laughs together. I have many fond memories of you and Al visiting us in Windsor. As a teenager, I enjoyed playing hostess and always made sure that we had Coke in the house whenever Al was in town. You are in my prayers. I can only imagine how hard it must be to lose your best friend of more than 66 years. Sending lots of love and strength, Xoxo Mary-Ellen (Romano)
