Born in London on Sept. 18, 1928. Married Gail Acland in 1969 and emigrated to Canada, finally settling on Cobourg. Horologist extraordinaire and tinkerer with all kinds of machinery – Tony could mend anything and also tell you how to do it yourself. Died in Cobourg on Aug. 15, 2025.
Tony will be missed, he was one of the nicest people I have met,
With sincere condolences, Carol & Bill
Dear Gail, Please accept our most sincere condolences. Tony was a very interesting man with many talents. Tom and Andrée
I will miss Tony's little quips and asides at Thanksgiving and Easter. He will leave a hole in our gatherings, but I'll think of him whenever I see a well-maintained fancy vintage car, or a pocketwatch that still keeps good time. Gail, lots of love and hugs to you.
Tony has been a core part of our lives for over 50 years and as far as we’re concerned will continue to be a presence at future gatherings as we tell “Tony” stories and remember him, grateful to have had him as a friend. Gail and Tony made a wonderful team together and we wish Gail every comfort of happy memories.
Dear Gail, my deepest sympathy for your loss.
Judy and I offer our condolences, Gail. I did not know Tony well but he was clearly a good man and a strong thread in the fabric our community.
So sad to hear this Gail our condolences, Ben and Doreen
Gail - so very sorry to hear of Tony’s passing. I remember him for his gentle quiet ways in the kitchen preparing and serving tea. And for his sense of humour, delivered without words but with a knowing smile. Thinking of you.
So sorry Gail - it must be hard after so many years and all the travelling adventures you both had. I remember him at so many occasions at your house over the last 20 odd years - he always set us straight when we got too frivolous! In particular I remember all the ACO barbecues in your garden with him on duty at the barbecue or at the bar! "May the road rise to meet you, may the wind be always at your back, may the sun shine warm upon your face, the rains fall soft upon your fields, and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand."
I was so sorry to hear this news. He certainly was a talented man and our family clocks were the happier for his gentle touch. May the many happy memories carry you through the days to come.
Dear Gail, You have my sympathy on the profound loss of your dear husband and companion in adventure. The peace of Christ Jesus is with you. Tony is enjoying life with His Lord and His incredible love! 💝
Gail, My deepest sympathies. My thought and prayers are with you. I will remember Tony fondly, especially when he volunteered to chauffeur me to prom and help me change my tires. He was a truly special man. Alex McMillan
