Roy James Glover, aged 90, of Cobourg ON passed away peacefully on August 11 2025.
Born on October 19th, 1934 in Port Credit ON, Roy was always looking for new challenges. He became a journeyman electrician working for his father in Port Credit, then changed direction buying a 156 acre property and campground in Bala, Muskoka. He then moved on as a salesman for an oil distributor in Orillia ON. and after a short time there, he was working for the Ontario Government as a stationary engineer in Orillia.
Another big move north was made to Matheson ON where he completed his career with the government and enjoyed an early retirement. After retiring, a 20 year move to Edmonton Alberta was in the cards to spend time with his son (Brian) & family. The final move to Cobourg in 2019 was their last.
Roy will be remembered for his outgoing personality and could strike up a conversation with anyone.
Roy is survived by his wife Bonnie, two sons, Bruce (Marg) and Jeff (Audrey), six grandchildren, Kelly, Kris, Jennifer, Josh, Aren and Mary, six great-grandchildren and his sister Marylin.
He was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Ivy Glover, his youngest son Brian and his brother Barry.
A small interment service will be held at St Michaelโs Cemetery on Thursday August 21st, 2025 at 1 pm..
Condolences to Royโs family. He was a kind table mate at meals at the palisades and will be missed.
