My condolences to Gerry's family/friends and community, as his colourful character will be sadly missed. I got to know Gerry through Cobourg baseball, as he coached for a few years and umpired. We did have some frank discussions on my judgement, and I'm sure he was right sometimes............. We also had of course talk about politics as both of us were at opposite ends of the spectrum. Gerry was a purple people eater Vikings football fan. He loved his team and quite often that is how I spotted him. We would chat about football in the latter years of his life. I admired Gerry, he was gritty, tough and believed what he was saying. He battled through many health issues and was admired. Both my wife and I will miss Gerry, but his presence will always be with us. Truly missing you Gerry, Chris and Terri Leavitt

Marg and myself are very sorry learn of Gerry's passing. He made a brave struggle, and was an inspiration in his outlook. I never met Gerry Marg met him.briefly but we learned alot of who he was through stories of friendship from his dear friend Allan. It seemed Rupert & Meisha were as welcome in Gerry's home as was Allan. Marg & I are so grateful for his care and thankful for any joy he got from the dogs. Love and prayers go to all the family at this very sad and painful time. May each of you find some quiet moments of solace in his memory, each day. Marg & Margaret, Rupert & Meisha pet parents.
