Ken passed away suddenly and tragically, as a result of a serious collision, on Tuesday, July 1, 2025. He shared his life with his faithful wife Judy (Luehof) for 35 years. He was a loving father to his four children: Connor (Kristin), Liam (Joanna), Cailin (Justin) and Shannon (Matthew). He will be missed by his grandchildren: Theodore, Margaret, Milly, Charles, Jenna, Henry, and the new granddaughter coming in October.
Ken was born on October 23, 1966 to Warren and Margaret Tait in the city of Barrie, ON. He was the second of three children. He was predeceased by his mother, Margaret Tait, his father in law, John Luehof, and his sister in law Tammara Boughen. He is survived by his father, Warren Tait, his older brother, Christopher Tait, and his younger brother, Michael Tait.
Ken’s family moved to Newcastle ON when he was still very young. He attended elementary school there and then went to Bowmanville High School. After he graduated, he went to Durham College and trained to be a machinist (tool and die maker).
Ken met Judy Luehof while they were both working at Christian Horizons. They were married on June 23, 1990. They first lived in an apartment in Bowmanville ON. Their first two children (their sons) were born in 1991 (Connor) and 1992 (Liam). They moved to their home in Castleton ON in 1993. Their daughters were born in 1996 (Cailin) and 1999 (Shannon).
Ken worked as a tool and die maker at Howard Martin in Pickering for 16 years, then Lakeridge Precision in Cobourg for 5 years, then General Electric in Peterborough for 12 years, and finished his career at Safran Landing Systems in Ajax in 2020.
Ken survived a life-altering car accident in January of 2022. His wife Judy was diagnosed with early onset dementia later that same year. Because of these major changes, their children helped them move from their country home in Castleton into an apartment in Colborne in September of 2022. Judy was moved into a nursing home in Brighton in September of 2024. Ken was faithful to visit Judy regularly until the Lord took him home to heaven on July 1, 2025.
We know that Ken is in heaven with the Lord he loved because of the decision he made to follow Jesus as a teenager. Although Ken experienced many earthly struggles, we know the Lord never let him go and his relationship with Him remained secure. He is now free from all of that, in the presence of Jesus, where there is fullness of joy. His salvation and hope of heaven rested in the death and resurrection of His Saviour, Jesus Christ. This verse captures what Ken’s faith rested in: “Jesus said, ‘I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life, no one comes to the Father except through Me.’” John 14:6
Ken’s final care has been entrusted to MacCoubrey Funeral Home, Cobourg where a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025 form 1:00 until 4:00 pm. There will be a brief time of remembrance for Ken at 2:00 pm with visitation happening before and afterwards.

Our sincerest condolences to the family of Ken. He was a good friend, fighter of freedom and incredible bagpiper. He travelled with us to many rallies and lead our protests with his incredible talent for music. Ken will truly be missed….hugs and prayers.
I was absolutely gutted when I heard the news. Though we never met in person, we spoke plenty and I classed Ken as a Brother. I will miss him dearly, I was honoured to know Him and He made the world a brighter place. Condolences to all of Ken’s immediate and extended Family. We will meet again my Friend, God Willing. R.I.P Brother, May You’re Memory Forever Be a Blessing 🙏
Worked with Ken at GE. Great guy.
It’s with great sadness that I learn of the sudden passing of Ken, we never met, but that’s what made Ken so exceptional, his engagement on X with so many folk from Northern Ireland brightened our days, commenting on all my pics, his positivity was absolutely immense. My deepest heartfelt sympathies to all his family and friends, you all should be proud of the immense presence of Ken and how far reaching that presence actually was. He’s now in glory with the Lord.
Praying for you and your family
To warren chris Mike and all the family members. What a tragic event for you all. Sending our love, you are all in our thoughts god bless xxx🥰
Ken touched the hearts and lives of many people who only knew him through his testimony and interaction in social media. He was a light for the Lord , always encouraging and bringing humour on dark days . I hoped to have met him and bring him to his online church in Northern Ireland but God had other plans , a temporary delay and peace in His glorious presence. Ken spoke often about his beautiful family and of his love for his wife Judy and you are in my prayers during this time of earthly grief. A much beloved brother , I thank God for the gift of Ken's friendship and fellowship. See you at home. Praise God for Ken's name in the book of life.
Shocked and saddened to hear of Ken’s sudden home call. I knew him only from social media connections but always appreciated his encouragement. His faith was real and vibrant, and now his faith has given way to sight, glorious sight! Christian sympathy to his grieving family, may you all know the sufficiency of God’s sustaining grace in your sorrow. Rev Noel Hughes, Kells, N. Ireland
Ken's words and kind gestures touched the lives of many. He will be greatly missed. Thoughts and prayers go to his family at this sad time.
Greg and I are so so. Sorry for the terrible accident that happened. We want to send prayers for your family , at a time of pain and grief. Ken will be with his mom now ! Looking down from heaven and sending messages from his energy , that will never die !
To Ken’s wife Judy, Connor, Liam, Cailin and Shannon I am so sorry for your loss, my sympathy and prayers are for you. Ken was one of the most enthusiastic people I have met. His love for Jesus, other believers, family, Ireland & music meant we had a lot in common. His updates on life & Mackie meant I felt I’d always known him even though we’d never met. Heaven is just around the corner and I can look forward to worshipping our Saviour with him someday.
Dear Warren and family, I am sorry to hear of your loss. My thoughts are with you. Linda
To Ken’s Family I am truly sorry to hear of Ken’s passing.. I met Ken roughly a year ago as he visited my hair salon in all kinds of weather on his trusty bike… we clicked with so many lovely conversations.. he was truly devoted to his wife and was telling me recently that he was thinking on moving to Ireland. So sorry that he didn’t get to do that. Thoughts and prayers are with you. He was a decent sole.🙏
Dear Tait Family, Our hearts go out to you all in this time of deep sorrow. We were so very sorry to hear of your dad’s sudden passing. Though words feel so small, we pray you find comfort in knowing that he is now safely home with our Lord and Savior, where there is no more pain or suffering. May the God of all comfort surround you with His peace, hold you close in His everlasting arms, and gently heal your hearts in the days ahead. Please know you're in our thoughts and prayers. With deepest sympathy, Manny, Enza, Angelo and Matteo Caruso
To Ken’s family I send my sincere condolences. I did not know his name at the time, but I had the opportunity to chat with him a few times as I was walking and he was biking towards Brighton. Always a friendly smile and a hello as he passed.
I was deeply saddened to hear of Ken’s passing to glory. Even when we know he is in the presence of our Lord, the sorrow and the vacuum you feel is very real. I wish to express my sympathy to Judy and the family, to Warren, Christopher and Micheal. I will continue to pray for you , in this time of sorrow.
I never knew Kenneth, but his posts online gave light when it felt dark. A wonderful soul that will be very sadly missed, by myself and many who knew of him here in Northern Ireland. He is now in the arms of angels and has returned home.🙏 My sincere condolences to his family and friends.
Ken was a much loved Twitter friend who always had a kind and encouraging word to share with everyone who crossed his path. His generosity and kindness extended far beyond the social media platforms that we interacted with him on and we will miss him very much. Praying for his friends and family circle, who will feel his loss so deeply. I am so thankful to know that he is safe with Jesus now. Trish, Northern Ireland

My sincerest condolences and prayers for Ken’s family. I met Ken through a small group on X and although we only knew each other for a short time he was a truly wonderful friend and brother in Christ. He had a true heart for God and reflected the light of Christ and love unto all those who knew him. He is safe in the arms of Jesus now. Until we meet in Heaven, dear Brother. Eva 🙏🏻
I am so sorry to hear the news of your dad's passing. I didn't really know Ken as an adult, but he was a good friend to me in high school with a heart for Jesus that shone through his kindness and care for everyone, no matter who they were. Know that my thoughts and prayers are with you as you walk the journey ahead. May God's arms surround you this day and may he fill your hearts with peace.
Social media has many evils and also some great goods and through X during the time called covid i came to know Ken who became a source of encouragement, fun and fellowship during a dark time for much of the world. The News of his going to be with the lord came as a shock to the Christian community on X from Northern Ireland and his impact was clear from the many tributes left on the platform. I will miss his memes bagpipe videos and updates from Canada and an all round great guy who having never met i felt i had known for years. He is with the saviour now and we will meeting glory for the eternal union with Christ. Psalm 121 v 2 My help cometh from the Lord which made heaven and earth.
I am so very sorry to hear about Ken's passing. My condolences to the family. Sending hugs to everyone...thinking of you all.
We remember Ken as a warm and loving Christian brother, who loved the Lord and His word, and who had a deep love for His family. We send our heartfelt love to each of his family, and rejoice to know he is home with the Lord who loved him so much.
I met Ken and Judy back in the early days when our kids were little....it was at a "who's coming for dinner" party. I never laughed so much in one evening as that night....so very sorry to hear of Ken's sudden passing... He will be missed and dearly remembered.
We will be keeping you all in our thoughts and many prayers for the days to come. . . May the Lord be your comfort and hold you in His loving arms.

My deepest condolences to Ken's family. Ken, you were a good friend who will be sorely missed in our little group. Rest peacefully in the arms of Jesus, brother. Trisha. 🙏 ❤️
For more than a decade, Ken was my closest and dearest friend. I will never forget those days and the wonderful times we shared together as young families. Ken and I served as Elders at the Chapel in Trenton, and of course, he taught me to play the bagpipes. We played together in the Bowmanville Legion Pipe Band in the late 1990s. I'll never forget when the Taits visited us in 1997 when we lived in Fort Wayne, Indiana. His car broke down and needed a new wheel bearing, so we loaded all of us (4 adults and 8 kids) into our Buick LeSabre and went to Science Central for the day! Ken loved God's word and the Lord himself, and his faith was firm, despite the challenges he faced. Until we meet again, dear friend...
I only knew Ken from Twitter but grew to love him for who he was. He accumulated a great number of friends online who became his brothers & sisters in Christ. We had already made plans for his visit to N Ireland this coming week and now we know that will not happen. He loved openly and judged no-one. Ken your legacy will live on in Judy and your beautiful family you so loved. Till we meet before the throne brother will love and miss you 🙏💙
I enjoyed singing with Ken at church and in cantatas. Always hoped to reconnect at some point, after they moved away. Our hearts go out to all of you at this very difficult time. Praise God for the saving and redeeming grace found in Jesus! In this we find our hope, and reconnecting will happen when we’re with the Lord. Praying for you all.
My Deepest condolence to the family! Uncle ken will be missed dearly, im grateful to have know his big heart and soul. We will see you again uncle ken. Prayers go out to everyone 🙏 ❤️
