Dear Terry, Emma, and the Everett and Miller families, I was deeply saddened to hear of Shannon’s passing, and I want to extend my heartfelt condolences to you all. Though I only had the privilege of knowing Shannon for a short time, she left a lasting impression on me. There was something so genuine and uplifting about her presence—she had a warmth that made you feel seen and welcomed, and a quiet wisdom that stayed with you long after the conversation ended. Shannon truly was a bright light. Her vibrant spirit, her curiosity, and the joy she brought into every space were unmistakable. She had that rare gift of making things better simply by being herself. Her laughter had a way of pulling you into the moment, and her kindness was not just felt—it was remembered. Knowing her made me want to be a gentler, more thoughtful person. It’s clear how deeply she loved her family, especially Emma, who was the heart of her world. The bond they shared was something beautiful and inspiring. Shannon’s passion for learning, her reverence for art, nature, and spirituality, and her ability to find meaning in the everyday are qualities that I will continue to admire.
