Alec Douglas Rutherford

April 13, 1929 - June 11, 2025

After a long and happy life, our father passed away peacefully at Pleasant Meadow Manor, Norwood, on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at the age of 96.
Loving husband of 64 years to the late Diana Elizabeth Filson (2023). Much loved father of David of Burlington and Paul of Toronto. Grandfather to Travis and Chase Rutherford.
Loved and remembered by several nieces and nephews. Pre-deceased by his parents, Douglas and Susie Rutherford and his brother Ralph and his wife Geraldine. Also pre-deceased by his sibling in-laws; Janet (Jack) Bews, Grant (May) Filson, Edward Filson and Colin Filson. Remembered fondly by many in the Campbellford community. Cremation has taken place.
A celebration of Alec’s life will be held on Saturday, June 28 at 11 a.m. at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Campbellford. There will be visiting in the church from 10 – 11 am.
Inurnment in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Donations to the Campbellford Memorial Hospital or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
Alec’s family wants to thank the incredible staff at the Multi-Care Lodge for their wonderful care over the years.
