Peacefully, at Ed’s House Hospice surrounded by her family, Gwen passed May 22, 2025 at the age of 93. Loved mother of Louise Woods and the late Lori Gray. Cherished Nana to Leslie (Brad Sweet) Woods, Scott (Jessica) Woods, Cameron Gray and Robb Bogler. Predeceased by her mother Ethel Robb, father Alvin Robb and brother Arnie Robb. She will be deeply missed by her longtime friends and family.
Gwen was born and raised in Woodbridge, Ontario, and later attended Western University. She married and made her home in Toronto until retiring to Brighton and eventually settling in Cobourg. She loved to travel, watch tennis, and volunteer.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Legion Village for their care during Gwen’s recent years and to Ed’s House for their unwavering support and compassion.
A celebration of life will take place Sunday, July 27th, 2025 from 1:00 - 3:00 pm with tribute speeches by the family at 1:30pm at MacCoubrey Funeral Home- Reception Centre, 30 King Street East, Cobourg, ON. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation or Ed’s House Northumberland Hospice Care Centre.
Gwen was a lovely person. Very loved by her family and in our lives for many years. Mike and I will miss her deeply. We are very happy that she is not suffering any longer and at peace. Lots of love Laurie and Mike
As one of Gwen's caregivers, I was saddened to learn of her passing, but comforted to know that she is no longer in pain. Gwen was such a lovely lady and a pleasure to care for and I will miss our early morning chats. I hope that her family will find comfort in their many wonderful memories.
Dear Louise, Scott , Leslie & family I’m sending my sincere condolences for the loss of your mother & nana..Gwen was one of the sweetest people I have ever had the pleasure of caring for…I first met Gwen when she moved to the Legion Village.. I’m so grateful for having known this amazing woman..I often referred to her as my therapist..she always had a way of talking things through with me.. forever in my heart..your friend Darlene ❤️
I’m so sad reading this announcement. Although I haven’t seen Gwen for a couple of years I always smile thinking of her. She was such a lovely woman that lit up a room with her upbeat personality and beautiful smile. Sending heartfelt condolences to her family.
My condolences to the family, l was one of her PSW'S at the Legion Village. She had a beautiful smile, we enjoyed our conversation's together,RIP Gwen.
I met Gwen living here at Legion Village and she was a lovely Grand lady......very pleasant and had some nice visits with her.......my deepest sympathy to the family.....she will be deeply missed........may she rest in peace.......Flo Femiak....
