Peacefully, surrounded by love, at Northumberland Hills Hospital on Wednesday May 28, 2025. Cherished daughter of the late Lillian and the late Donald Isaac. Dearly loved mother of Jennifer Parsons (Jay Bishop) and Michael Parsons (Melissa). Loving “Granny” of Chelsea, Ashley and Jocelyn. Dear sister of Sherry Isaac. Lovingly remembered by her niece Julie Aziz (Andrew Falkenberg) and nephew Steven Aziz. Great-aunt of Caleb and Claire. She will be dearly missed by her many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Through Linda’s two career paths she was the consummate teacher. She retired as Principal with the Toronto District School Board and excelled in her field. After retirement, just enjoying golf or curling was not enough. Linda pursued her second career with Nelson as National Director of Indigenous Education, Equity and Inclusion, and as a teacher, continued to provide knowledge to others of the contributions of Indigenous peoples through truth and reconciliation.
Linda was a remarkable woman of strength and courage. Family was her ultimate focus, whether parties, seasonal celebrations or birthdays, she always made it special.
Linda had many friends, a testament to her love of adventure, travel and good food. She was loyal, honest, kind and generous. It was a privilege to be her friend.
A celebration of Linda’s life will be held at the MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King St. E., Cobourg on Thursday June 5th from 11:00am-12:00 noon, followed by a service at 12 noon. If desired, donations may be made to Alderville United Church or Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation.

Sending my condolences to Linda's family. I met Linda through curling - I spared on her team a few times and she was very kind and friendly - she even offered me a pair of curling shoes that she didn't need. Please accept my heartfelt condolences on the passing of our beloved Linda. Though I only had the chance to speak with her occasionally, her warmth, kindness, and strength left a lasting impression. Like a steady river that nourishes the earth, her presence brought calm and life to those around her. In my faith, we believe that the soul continues its journey beyond this world, travelling through the spiritual realms like the wind moves freely over the land. It is said: “The spirit, after its separation from the body, will continue to progress in the divine world.” May each prayer offered be like a wind beneath her wings, lifting her soul ever closer to peace and light. I find comfort knowing that her spirit now rests peacefully, embraced by the eternal light, much like the sun setting only to rise again with renewed strength. With deepest sympathy and prayers, Eli
Dear family and friends, My condolences on the passing of Linda.I had the privilege of meeting Linda several years ago in her role as the national director of Indigenous Education at Nelson. She was a strong advocate ,supporter and leader in Canada in this work. Always gracious, insightful and pleasant to be with. Her leadership will be missed across Canada. Thank you Linda for sharing your teachings with me and many others.
To Linda's family, many dear friends, and colleagues, I extend heartfelt condolences. It was a great shock to receive the news that Linda had left this earthly realm. I had the great pleasure of working with and learning from Linda throughout my in-house stint at Nelson Education. I loved how she spoke so eloquently, sincerely, and memorably on issues of utmost importance to all Canadians, not such students and teachers. She was passionately devoted to Truth and Reconciliation. And what fun it was to enjoy Linda's effervescent company at the Nelson sales conference in St-Sauveur! She will be forever loved and appreciated and never, ever forgotten.
