Peacefully at Ed’s House Northumberland Hospice in Cobourg on Saturday, May 17th, 2025, Roy Baxter at 86 years of age. Beloved husband for 64 years to Pauline Baxter (nee Tompkins). Loving father of Dale Baxter (Stella) and Kim Moore (Kent). Cherished grandfather of Tyler (Tiffany), Matthew (Jessica) and Kody (Kassie). Great Grandfather of Nolan, Archer, Jonah, Cole, and Louella. Dear brother of Norman (Glenys, the late Linda) and Doreen (Larry) and predeceased by his siblings Jeanne (Mike) and Keith (the late June).
Roy will also be immensely missed by his nieces and nephews, along with extended family and friends.
Roy’s departure has left a large void in all our hearts.
Our comfort is having our memories and sharing the love we have for him with each other. Roy will be forever missed and loved.
For those wishing to attend, a Celebration of Life for Roy is scheduled for Sunday June 29th, 2025, from 12-4pm at the Whitby Legion, located at 117 Byron St. S, Whitby, ON, L1N4P5.
Those wishing may make a memorial donation to Ed’s House Northumberland Hospice.
It's with great sadness learning of Roy's passing. I had the pleasure and honor of working @ Whitby Precision (5+yrs). Roy will always hold a warm place in my heart. My sincerest condolences to the Baxter family during your time of grief.

It was wonderful to spend time with Uncle Roy and family last year on our visit to Canada from the UK. He made a real impression on my daughter Kelita- he looked after us and entertained us with his energy and sense of humour. A Luton supporter to the end - he is sadly missed by us all in England. Lots of love to Aunty Pauline , Kim, Dale and family. I’m so pleased we spent time with you all last year xxxx

We are extremely saddened at the passing of our dear friend Roy. Our hearts goes out to Pauline, Dale, Kim and the rest of the family. We will cherish the memories we Had when we lived in Whitby and the 15 years we spent together in Florida. With the joy of Kim visiting Florida every year to go to the freezer for shrimp and crab legs with the gang. All our love Michael and MaryAnn

Right up until this year we played golf together and always shared a few beers afterwards. Roy was a gentleman, never had a bad word to say about anyone and a great sense of humour. The Baxter family our deep sympathies for the passing of Roy Barbie and I and our family are deeply saddened by the passing of Roy a.k.a. the captain of industry Myself and my son always had a fabulous time golfing with Roy on Sunday mornings with all the boys and then in the afternoon stopping by a local pub and have a pint with him and lying to each other about our golf games Our family will deeply miss him and it’s going to be completely different on Memorial Day this year. Our sympathy to Pauline, Dale and Kim and the extended family. We have known Roy and Pauline for 50 years, having lived in both Whitby and Port Hope nearby each other. We remember Roy as a happy man who loved to dance and party. Roy could also tell a great story. We have many fond memories of good times with Roy and Pauline. Roy loved to renovate homes. He was a great family man, who will be missed by all who knew him.
