It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Eunice Williams (nee Cooney) at her residence on Good Friday, April 18, 2025, at the age of 91. Daughter of the late Earl and Laura Cooney. Beloved wife of the late Shane Alwyn ("Butch") Williams. Dear mother of Mark (Barb), Mike (Angela), Stephanie (Dennis), and Vanessa. Loving grandmother to Marklyn, Chrystal, Steven, Naomi, Ruth Ann, Amani and Ailyn. Also remembered by her great-grandchildren. Eunice is survived by her sister Thelma (Bill) Chatten. She is pre-deceased by her siblings Barbara Cooney, Ila Swiston, Murney Cooney, Beverly Chaumont, and Marvin Cooney. Also missed by her extended family and friends.
Thank you for being our Mom. Tough, determined, and undeterred. Brave, strong, and extraordinary. Always ready for an adventure. Worried by the unimportant, yet unbothered by the significant. Raised in humble conditions, and forged in grit. You never let anything stop you. You did things your way, in your style. Born during the Great Depression, lived through World War ll era, and saw the introduction of both the computer and the internet. Became a Google and Facebook enthusiast, Amazon shopper, and a dedicated fan of YouTube. Loved your job at Loblaws, had children in your 40's, and officially retired at 80. Always ready for a celebration. Loved Scrabble and Elvis. Country music, good times and Amazing Grace. You will be missed. You have left a lasting impression and your mark on this world. We love you.

I worked with Eunice at Loblaws. Started as a carry out boy and Eunice trained me well how to pack groceries. What a dear woman. I've not forgotten packing groceries or Eunice. Gord
Our deepest condolences on the passing of your mother. Your mom was a truly special woman, and we were so glad to have had the opportunity to have her over to our house for dinner, it was fun. If there's anything we can do to help during this difficult time, please don't hesitate to ask. David & Pam Johnson
Eunice was a quiet and friendly neighbour. She will be missed at “The Royal”. Condolences to all her family.
Where to start? Determined yes, in such a good spirited way that got you to see things her way. And there was always that laugh waiting to burst out. She was a fantastic compassion for my mother, who always respected her - in part because of her old-school cooking skills, but more because she was a woman of strong convictions who stood her ground. She will be sadly missed, though perhaps the mice, chipmunks and squirrels of Cobourg will breathe a sigh of relief.
We send are love&prayers We will miss you mom 💔

She had such a great sense of humour and we will always remember her smile. Praying for you all in this season of loss. Much love, Jeff and Shelley
