It is with profound sorrow and sadness that we announced the sudden passing of Richard Munroe Anderson “Nimkee” Born May 18, 1979.
Richard leaves behind his twin brother Leonard, brother Chris (Kim), Joey (Ganelle), Dylan (Shawna), Dallyn, His father Ruben James (Dawn), nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and many many friends.
Richard was predeceased by his mother Marlene Starr, sister Amanda, brother James, maternal grandparents Leonard (KeeKee) And Hilda (Baby) Starr, and paternal grandparents, Munroe and Katie Anderson.
Chief, Sundancer, water walker, marine, veteran, native rights advocate, and volunteer at the food bank. Of Richard’s many accolades, the thing he was the most proud of was being a twin brother to Len.
Richard loved family gatherings, watching kids play and just having a good ole visit. He was proud of his completed marine training, it came with strict regiment, and discipline, something he loved. Richard worked at the trading post for many years, he loved his job. Richard was proud that he and Len were good friends and best men at Premier Wab Kinew wedding. He always cheered everyone’s accomplishments with vigor. Richard loved working out and being big and buff. He was snappy dresser like his mother. Richard was a man of stature with a heart of gold. We’re going to miss you, Richy.
A visitation will be held at the family home Thursday, April 17 – Friday, April 18th at 8927 County Road 45, Roseneath, ON. On Saturday, April 19th a reception will be held at MacCoubrey Funeral Home 30 King Stret East, Cobourg, ON from 3:00 – 5:00PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Northumberland Humane Society.
Our deepest sympathies to Richards family and friends. He will be welcomed in heaven by his mom and grandparents and all who went before him.
I am seriously saddened by this tragedy. Richard was such a good person he generally made people feel important and was always so social. He was happy and easy going to talk to. He always made a point to say hi to me. It really is so sad he was just a beam of energy. That man was very much one of a kind
We are so sorry to hear of this sad and sudden passing. Richard was one of my many customers at the Red Barn, he always greeted with "how's it going rach" and ended with a smile and "seeya later rach". He was a good man with a huge personality. Rest in paradise Richard
