Candy Lee Smoke also known as Golden Eagle woman gently began her Journey to join her ancestors on April 8th 2025, she leaves behind her beloved and devoted son Daniel, and her cherished sister Debra and many loved family and friends.
Pre-Deceased by her father Eugene smoke and mother Eileen Smoke (nee) Crowe, and her big brothers Donny and Harold Smoke,
Being a mother, caregiver and educator were her greatest accomplishments, and she leaves a legacy of generosity and kindness to her community of Alderville First Nation, where she was loved and will be missed. Baamaapii. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ed's House Northumberland Hospice Care Centre.
I will sure miss you. Your compassion for others was unsurpassed and your strength during illness was a lesson for all of us. Until we meet again.

My deepest condolences to Golden Eagle Women's family and friends. We have all been so blessed by the gift of her life, her joy and laughter. In her final days, though I could not be there, she was never far from my heart. I held her in my thoughts and prayers each day, trusting that she felt free, deeply loved, and at peace. Now being held by the spirit world, may her journey be as beautiful as her life.

I met Candy about 20 years ago out in Alderville when conducting a course at the Native Community Centre. She was a kind, beautiful soul. My sincere condolences to all the family.
