Peacefully at the Northumberland Hills Hospital on Monday April 7th, 2025 in his 98th year. Beloved husband of the late Mary Willis (nee Philp). Loving father of the late Margaret (Glenn Ruppert), Nancy (Daniel McKenzie), Garnet (Dianne Conners) and Garth (Jocelyn Villaneuva). Albert will be missed greatly by his adoring grandchildren: Suzanne Platt, Amanda Platt, Cristine Willis, Derrick Willis (Shantell King), Ashlee Willis, Sadie Larkman and Sy Larkman and great grandchildren Dylan Willis, Cullen Willis, Kloe Willis, Kyarra King-Willis and Talon King. Albert is pre-deceased by his siblings Reginald (Marie), Ruth, Eva, Elva and Jean. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Albert was a life long resident of ColdSprings . He attended #12 Hamilton Township public School and became the tender of the school fires to keep everyone warm and this job transferred to tending to the fire at Camborne United Church. Albert was a tireless volunteer at Camborne United Church, St. Paul’s United Church in ColdSprings, Camborne Cemetery, he helped build the ColdSprings Hall and helped found the ColdSprings Bethlehem Walk. When ever an organization in Camborne or ColdSprings needed help with anything, Albert was the first to volunteer. In 1995 Albert had a health crisis and needed by-pass surgery. He was told he needed to slow down, but that was not in Albert’s nature and he was soon back working as hard as ever. The ColdSprings/Camborne community has lost a great man, who was humble to the end. Friends are invited to attend a funeral service at the MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King St., E., Cobourg on Sunday April 13th at 1 pm., followed by a reception in the MacCoubrey Reception Centre. Interment in Camborne Cemetery at a later date. If desired donations may be made to the Northumberland Hills Hospital Palliative Care Unit or St. Paul’s United Church, ColdSprings. The family are very grateful for the care he received at Empire Crossing Retirement Residence the last five+ years and his caregivers in his last days at Northumberland Hills Hospital. Special thanks to Dr Bayer for his care of our dad.
