Peacefully at the Northumberland Hills Hospital in Cobourg on Sunday, March 9th, 2025, John Black at 86 years of age. Loving husband of the late Helen Jean Black (nee Chapple). Cherished father of Debbie Delyea and Heather Savory (Todd). Dear grandfather of Molly (Duncan), Joey, Melissa, (Jim), Ashley (Eno), Dylan (Chloe) and great grandfather of Dustin, Maggie, Nate, Anise, Layla, Caleb, Josh, Adelina, Landon, Benjamin, Eli, Riot and Cash. Predeceased by his siblings. Also predeceased by his four legged friend Willow. Willow was always by his side. Where ever John went so did Willow. John was very proud of both his daughters and grandchildren and always enjoyed their visits. He loved to have a chat and the occasional debate just to keep his mind sharp. He worked very hard at his job in his working years providing for his family. He then retired to spend the rest of his time relaxing, gardening and enjoying life.
Cremation with a Celebration of Life Gathering at the MacCoubrey Funeral Home Reception Centre, 30 King St. E in Cobourg on Saturday, May 3rd, 2025, from 11 am to 1 pm. Interment of cremated remains at Cobourg Union Cemetery. Those wishing may make a memorial donation to the Canadian Cancer Society.
Please accept our sincerest condolences on behalf of myself and the Frei side of the family. Uncle Jack was a wonderful man who always treated us with warmness and kindness. He will be missed by all who knew him.
