It is with great sadness that the family of Faye Winnifred Haddow announces her passing on March 21, in Port Hope, Ontario, at age 85.
Faye was born in Toronto on July 20, 1939, and after high school worked at BP Oil until her first marriage. After her sons were born, she was a proud and dedicated stay-at-home mom while they were growing up. She later enjoyed a second career working at Pal Personnel Services in Toronto. She retired to Cobourg in 1999 and became very active in the local community, joining the Victoria Hall Volunteers and the Inner Wheel club. Faye was an avid traveller, reader, tole painter, moviegoer, theatregoer, and bridge player, and enjoyed spending many winters in Florida as a snowbirder. But her greatest joy was her family, whom she loved dearly.
Faye is survived by her sons Mark (Laila) Stephen and Blair Stephen; her stepson Cameron Haddow (Jane) and stepdaughter Lesley Haddow-Bucci (Chris); and her grandchildren Charley and Paige Stephen and Stephanie Schmeiser (Pradeesh).
Faye was predeceased by her husband Douglas Haddow; her parents Winnifred (nee Brightwell) and Douglas Lippett; her siblings June Hopper, James Lippett and Douglas Lippett; and her former husband Peter Stephen.
She will be sadly missed by her nieces and nephews in the Hopper and Lippett families; her former daughter-in-law Jarka Stephen and other extended family members; and her many close friends and neighbours in Toronto, Cobourg, Port Hope and throughout southern Ontario.
The family would like to thank the staff at Hope Street Terrace in Port Hope for their compassionate care during this difficult time.
A service to celebrate Faye’s life will be held at a later date.

I am so very sad to hear of Faye’s passing. I loved this woman! Sincere condolences to all her family. May she Rest In Peace.
My sincerest condolences to Faye's family on her passing. Faye was a fellow member of Inner Wheel and I enjoyed working on projects together with her. I met Faye first, however, while working at the Town Hall, where she was a member of the Victoria Hall Volunteers. I met her many times walking and I always felt comfortable in her company. She was a lovely person and I know she will be dearly missed. Rest in peace, my friend.
I’m so sorry for your loss. I still cherishing memory of Faye and Doug sitting together watching over the lake view. Sorely missed.
So glad that my father brought Faye into our lives. Always one to have a smile on her face and a witty remark. We will miss you Faye. Cam
Dear family of Faye, Whenever I would see Faye my day was instantly brightened. Whether she was being her sweet self or slightly sassy she was a delight. I am so glad to have known her. My thoughts are with her family at this time of significant loss.
My Aunt Faye was a wonderful loving caring, funny, adventurous woman. She exuded grace, compassion and care. Her volunteer work for the town of Cobourg is well recognized and appreciated. She loved her family and was always the key person to our Lippett family get togethers. Our talks, whether at her condo or over lunch will stay with me. Forever in our hearts, Judy and John
