Narda Jane Longhurst

November 7, 1949 - March 22, 2025

It is with heavy hearts the family of Narda Jane Longhurst (nee Taylor) announce her passing at the Belleville General Hospital Saturday, March 22, 2025 at the age of 75. Beloved wife of Tom Longhurst for 49 years. Cherished mother of Vanessa Longhurst and Grama of Tyson Bodis. Proud Great-Grama of Dal’Angelo, Kaleb and Dustin. Our hearts are heavy with loss, but there is peace in knowing awaiting her arrival was her grandson, Dustin Longhurst who predeceased Narda in 2017. Narda is the daughter of the late Clifford and Shirley Taylor and will be greatly missed by her siblings Allen (Debra) Taylor, Randy (Vicki) Taylor and Mark (Lynn) Taylor. Predeceased by her sister Cindy Minnie (Taylor). Narda will be deeply missed by her many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. As per Narda’s wishes, cremation has taken place and details for a celebration of life will be announced at a later date. In the Spring, Narda will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery, Grafton alongside her grandson, Dustin. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.

There is a season for everything, a time for every occupation under heaven.
A time for giving birth, A time for dying’
A time for planting, A time for uprooting what has been planted.
A time for killing, A time for healing;
A time for knocking down, A time for building.
A time for tears, A time for laughter;
A time for mourning, A time for dancing.
A time for throwing stones away, A time for gathering them up;
A time for embracing, A time to refrain from embracing.
A time for searching, A time for losing;
A time for keeping. A time for throwing away.
A time for tearing, A time for sewing;
A time for keeping silent, A time for speaking.
A time for loving, A time for hating;
A time for war, A time for peace.

Marlene - March 27, 2025

My deepest sympathy to Alan, Randy, Mark and Cindy,s families. We spent alot of time in Lakeport growing up. I talked to Narda & Tom while they lived in Grafton as where I live and cleaning house for Betty & Sam. I would run into Mark once and a while at the farm where sister Leslie & her husband Dwayne Taylor lived. Kinda kept tabs on Mark as his ex Jackie & son - in - law Jason worked at the recyling plant here where I work. Randy I talked to a few years ago while planning our Cochrane Reunion. It was thyen I became aware of Nardas health. Alan I remember when younger when they were home from out west. I clearly recall Uncle Cliff and his hunting dogs, Aunt Shirley always smiling, laughing as they seem to be the drop in centre with neighbors as well as their family with get togethers. Loved going to the variety store on the corner and the big field that we ran and played baseball in. I am sorry for the loss of your sister Cindy too and understand she passed a couple of years ago but was told no particulers other than she passed away. And Tom I remember meeting you at the Taylors and thought "boy he sure makes Narda happy" Vanessa I am sorry for the loss of your son, Dustin. Maybe you will let me know with interment date at Fairview. I,d like to be there to pay my respects properly. lol cousin, Marlene Harnden (Cochrane). I would like to see you all again as when I came for Uncle Cliffs graveside service.
