It is with great sadness that the family of Ronald Edmund Roberts (Ron/Ronnie) announce his passing at Northumberland Hills Hospital on March 11, 2025 in his 76th year.
Beloved husband of the late Lynda Louise Roberts (nee Bell). Adored and cherished father of daughter Jennifer (Claude) and son Ian. Dear brother of Ed Roberts (Peggy) of Newfoundland. Loving grandfather to Dalton, Ryan and R.J.
Ron will be fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews and his many friends.
Dad will be incredibly missed by many. His down-to-earth nature, honesty, easy-going attitude, sense of humour, hard-work ethic, wittiness and cleverness were just a few of the attributes that made him enchanting to others. Dad was an avid non-fiction reader with a thirst for knowledge, sharing that knowledge with anyone and everyone who would listen. He was a fantastic cook who thoroughly enjoyed cooking for others. His gardening and wood-working projects were nothing short of meticulous.
Dad was the life of the party, always requesting to hear Mr. Bojangles and listen to Tom Petty songs. He would always make us laugh. His favourite saying “I hear nothing, I see nothing, I know nothing”. He always preferred to be on the neutral side of things.
Dad was a fighter, the epitome of a stubborn “Newfie” he would say. He hung on as long as he could while minimizing his pain and struggles. And although we will miss him immensely, he is breathing easy now, struggling no longer and is reunited with our mom in Heaven.
A celebration of life to be potentially determined at a later date. Dad’s wishes were to have his ashes scattered in Newfoundland (home) near the Atlantic Ocean.

I worked with Ron at H&K My family is also from Nfld. My wife and I retired here 4 years ago. When they say you can take the boy out of Nfld but you can't take Nfld out of the boy that applied to Ron effectinetly known around the factory as Newf. He was always on the search for fiddle heads for a good feed. He was a good friend to everyone who knew him.
So sorry for your loss. A great guy .enjoyed working with him

So many fond memories of Ron, he always appreciated when I visited staying up late and always cooking up a spread of great meals! While sitting around the fire he had that smile and you new everyone was enjoying themselves because it was so infectious! Rest in peace bro!
When I think about my childhood, the memories of spending summers in Ontario with Uncle Ron fill my mind with joy and are the first to come to mind when I think about true happiness. Spending ample time with my dad and sister while getting closer to my extended family. I remember every day feeling like a new adventure and was completely fascinated by the pie-shaped factory he would bring us to one day or just frolicking through his farmland and learning about all the life there is on a farm. I wish I had more time to spend with him in my adult life as it’s always felt like my family is spread out and the times we spent together are few but the ones we did, I cherish close to my heart and I was always so happy to have him around. Spending more time with my cousins and learning more about my father’s older brother is something I look forward to in the future and I know uncle Ron is looking down on his family now. Sending love to the rest of my family.
Jenn, Ian and family So sorry for the loss of Uncle Ron. He will be missed by many ❤️ I remember when I lived just doors down from him, seems like forever ago RIP
