MESSAGES OF CONDOLENCE / DONATIONS

Agnes Small and Julia & Ted - February 12, 2025

Heather was my first cousin and I fondly remember our time together during the many visits to Aunt Hazel & Uncle Mervin’s farm when I was young. She was always kind and thoughtful and we had a lot of fun together. As so often happens, we lost touch for some of our adult years but we always asked about each other when speaking with other relatives. I was so grateful when Heather recently reached out to me (after some searching) and we had a wonderful conversation and I was looking forward to more. I will miss her.

Abby Zotz - February 7, 2025

My deepest sympathy to Val and all of Heather's family and friends at the loss of this lovely human. Heather was a long-time, much-loved member of our women's chorus, AbZolutely Choir. She always had a smile and a kind word for everyone in our community, as well as many ideas on performing opportunities and songs to explore, and she loved a good laugh. In the last couple of years she moved to the Soprano section from the Mezzos, not a common thing to do as the voice ages. But I think she "found her voice," possibly in more ways than one. She was quiet and perhaps came across as reserved but had a passion for history, genealogy and singing…and probably much, much more, but these things are what I know well of her. I will personally miss her very much and our choir will not be the same without her.

Dear family, friends and loved ones, I was shocked and sad to hear of Heather's passing. I met Heather when we were volunteers at Pettycoat Lane. She was dedicated to giving back to her community and was so happy at being part of this special group of volunteers. I remember when Heather joined the Shout Sister Choir, and did she love to sing. She was incredibly good at memorizing her lyrics and part..she was so proud, and I of her. She loved being with people, a genuine, kind person who would find time to say hello and chat. Never lost for conversation on any topic, I will miss those conversations and truly miss Heather. Your journey has just begun.....

Alma Draper - February 6, 2025

It was 12 years ago when Heather and I met as Volunteers at Petticoat Lane. We now have to say good-bye. Heather loved working at the shop. She loved chatting and helping customers. Heather loved her family, especially her niece who is a jockey. During our coffee breaks we learnt a lot more about the world of horse racing. Heather’s friendship, caring and bubbly personality continued into the community – where she lived in Cobourg, and in Roseneath. She loved animals so it was common Heather would drive to Roseneath to look after someone’s cats, drive back to Cobourg for her shift at the shop, then drive back to Roseneath. If anyone needed a ride or favour, Heather was happy to oblige. What else did Heather love? For sure she loved Food! A chef’s perfect patron, who ate everything on her plate and would give a sigh of deep satisfaction. We sure did enjoy the sweet treats she brought us from Doohers bakery in Campbellford. Heather loved being in photographs, whether it be with a few others or in a large crowd, you could always spot her as she had the widest, genuine smile. We miss her already. Alma. Mary, Betty, Linda Lisa, Ann and Richard
