Eileen Rosemary Rollings

June 12, 1933 - January 3, 2025

Peacefully left us at Northumberland Hills Hospital in Cobourg at the age of 90. Loving wife of the late John Rollings. Beloved Mother of Victor Shaw & wife Suzanne, Paul Shaw & wife Leslie, Heather Shortell nee Shaw & husband Daniel Shortell. Dear Gramma/ Gram/Gran to Lorraine Wynne husband Paul Wynne, Kaitlind Mee nee Shaw & husband Evan Mee, Ryan Shaw; Jessica Huk Shortell & husband Paul Huk; Matthew Shortell & wife Carly Shortell, Chrystal Shaw, Nicole Shaw. Great Gramma to Viktoriya Rose Shaw, George Wynne, Kiera Shaw, Caleb Huk, Sawyer Shortell, Logan Shortell, Reign Shortell, Jonathan Mee.

Born & raised in Toronto, Eileen had a career in banking, retail and the Gravenhurst Fire College. Eileen had the opportunity to travel at different times through out her life, Florida, Vegas, cruises and her favourite, Portugal. She was always up for socializing with her many friends and joining clubs; darts, cards or hanging with the 55 Club. Eileen loved being with her family most of all. She loved them with all her being and was so proud of each one. As one of the many of Eileen’s sayings goes, “if I was wearing a sweater, I would pop every button”.

She was very blessed with so many wonderful friends over the years, she enjoyed their company, friendship & laughter. Both family and friends will miss her dearly as we all feel the void she has left in our lives.

“You are the most beautiful rose in my garden of life” - Eileen Rollings

My sincere condolences to the family. I am Edith Dohertys daughter. My mother passed away on New Years Eve. Eileen and my mom were best friends. They passed away 3 days apart. I take comfort knowing they are together now.

Sharon & Bill Lyon - January 8, 2025

Sharon & I feel blessed to have known Eileen, almost for the past twenty two years since we arrived in the Cobourg area. We have been so lucky to have her call us friends, her warmth and terrific sense of humour will never be forgotten. We went to visit her in the hospital a few days before she passed and even then she was still trying to make us laugh. She will be greatly missed. Sharon & Bill.

Deb Belczewski - January 8, 2025

So very sorry to hear of Eileen's passing. My condolences to her loving family. Eileen was the most down to earth person I have known. I worked as a cleaner for her and John for 12 years! They were a joy to work for and they became like my family. Eileen so loved her family. She told me so many stories over the years and they were told with such pride. She always had a smile on her face and a twinkle in her eyes. She touched so many lives and I feel so fortunate to have known her. She was the most grounded senior I have ever met! Be at peace Eileen and thank you for touching my life. You will be missed.

Brenda Fay - January 8, 2025
