Betty has been my good friend for 40 years. We shared many wonderful times together gardening, baking, flower arranging, going to live theatre or out for a dinner. Betty lived life to the fullest and was always so kind and generous with her time and talents. I will miss her but she will remain close at heart for ever. Love Kathleen
I worked at LHB for many years with Betty …always knowledgeable, friendly &Great Registered Nurse…..Hope she died peacefully.
Sorry to hear of Betty’s passing she was such a lovely person. I worked with her at Bowmanville hospital where she was a hard working nurse. Betty also got me involved in the Bowmanville nursing group. She was our president for a number of years. We had many happy get togethers at her beautiful home in the country. She organized our Christmas and spring luncheon outings after it became too much for her to have at her home. She certainly enjoyed her golf games. She will be missed.
I was very sorry to hear about the passing of your Mom. I was your Mom’s neighbour and always enjoyed our visits together. Your Mom was always so cheerful enjoyed telling about her family. She will be missed!
I came to know your mum through the retired nurses group in Bowmanville. She was the loveliest person and I looked forward to out get togethers once a month. We shared a love of books and often exchanged titles. I’m so sorry that she is no longer with us and I won’t get to see her anymore. You will miss your mum as will the group of nurses who enjoyed her company.
My sincere sympathy to Susan, Patricia and all of your family on the recent passing of Betty. I met Betty while working at Bowmanville Memorial Hospital as it was called at that time. We were also members of the Bowmanville Nurses Association for a few years. Betty and I also shared the same hair stylist so we would often meet outside the nursing circle. I will miss her distinctive voice, sense of humour, sharing memories and catching up on the latest news. She was always a lady and admired by all who knew her. She will certainly be missed. Sincerely Ann Couch
My sincere condolences to your family . Betty was a wonderful and caring nurse. I worked with Betty at Bowmanville Memorial Hospital for many years. She was a dear friend. She will be missed by those who were lucky to know her.
Had some good meals and good laughs with Betty. My condolences and hugs to her family.
Dear Susan and Patricia, We have never met but I feel like I know you well. Your Mom was very proud of her daughters. Betty and I knew each other for many years. We worked together at Bowmanville Hospital and continued our ongoing chat at the Retired Nurses Group. The summer picnic at your Ganaraska home was a favourite occasion. Betty made “sun tea” and the sun always shone that afternoon in June. Sincere condolences, Connie Kelly
My sincere condolences to your family. I met your Mom at the Retired Nurses Group and her smile and welcome nature made me feel truly part of the group. My last time with your Mom was at one of our Christmas Luncheons at the Bistro and as we were leaving she gave me such an amazing hug and smile. I feel blest to have known her.

Betty was a very special Sister-in-Law. She loved "her girls" and was so proud of them. Whenever Patricia would send an email with pictures of her granddaughter Elaine, she always ended the note "she is so special isn't she". She would be so proud of Patricia and Susan of how wonderful they have been over the last few months. Betty was the best email or note writer. I looked forward to them, she always replied and gave good advice or encouragement when asked for and she could make me laugh. She was my mentor and cheerleader when I went through my own bout with cancer, even though she was battling her own pains and illness. She never complained and just kept going ... Driving, golfing, gardening, concerts, and going out for good food. I called her my "never stopping every-ready bunny". I miss her! Carol Olinski (nee Meta)
I never worked with Betty on the floor but she was always so pleasant and definitely a patient oriented nurse. She was also lots of fun at the Retired Nurse group. My sincerest sympathy to the family. As nurses we often spoke of our kids so although we didn't know the children personally we knew what they were doing with their lives.
My very deepest condolences to Patricia, Susan and family. I had known Betty for many years, she was a dear friend. Betty was full of fun and laughter and always a joy to be with. I will miss our fun times together. You will be sadly missed and I will think of you often. Much Love, Lynda (your w.b.)
