It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of
Linda Jane March (Douglas), born June 30, 1941, and passed away peacefully on December 11, 2024, at the age of 83, in the palliative care unit of North Northumberland Hospital.
She was born in Lindsay, Ontario, to Gladys and Doug Douglas.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 66 years, Lloyd; her three daughters, Wendy, Shelley, and Tina; and their spouses, Dean Butler, Ken Karpa, and Bob Bridger. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Carley, Amelia, Hayden, Hanna, and Lily; her brother, Bill Douglas, and his partner, Nicole; her brother in-law Bill and his wife Sue March and the late Cecil March and his partner Jean Green.
Linda was an accomplished golfer, enjoying many years at Cedarbrae Golf & CC and cherished friendships formed there. She and Lloyd also spent winters in Florida at Plantation Golf & CC, creating lasting memories and friendships.
Her absolute passion for her gardens was the driving force behind her longevity and she was still enjoying it into her 80’s. She dedicated many years to cultivating her gardens, eventually finding contentment in admiring her creations. Her wit and humor, along with her unique “Linda isms” will be dearly missed. Many things changed throughout her life, but her devotion to Lloyd, and his to her, remained constant until the end. We find comfort in knowing she is in a better place, tending a peaceful garden, a cold drink in hand, where new beauty will flourish. May you find joy and peace in your eternal garden.
Our heartfelt thanks go to her entire palliative care team and Dr. Mulé for everything you did to keep her comfortable in her final days.
Cremation has taken place and no service will be held as per her wishes.
